Funkcija

Ovaj gen bez introna kodira antigen povezan sa karcinomom, definisan monoklonskim antitijeom GA733. Ovaj antigen je član porodice koja uključuje najmanje dva tipa I mrmbranskih proteina. Transdukuje unutarćelijski kalcijski signal i deluje kao površinski ćelijski receptor.

Mutacije ovog gena dovode do želatinozne distrofije rožnjače, autosomno recesivnog poremećaja koji karakterizira teška amiloidoza koja dovodi do sljepoće.[8]

Ovaj antigen je meta sacituzumab-govitecana, konjugata antitijelo-lijek.
