| Description |
English: Unofficial proposal inspired by the flag of the independent Cape movement and the current South African flag. The green part symbolizes fynbos, nature, viticulture and the table mountain, but also the characteristic Cape hills. The colors: red, white and blue are the traditional colors of the Western Cape, they are also the colors of freedom and liberty. The golden cross, or rays of the sun, represents the wealth of the Cape in all its forms: culture, traditions, diversity, languages, nature, animals and resources.
Nederlands: Onofficieel voorstel geïnspireerd op de vlag van de onafhankelijke Kaapse beweging en de huidige Zuid-Afrikaanse vlag. Het groene gedeelte staat symbool voor het fynbos, natuur, wijnbouw en de tafelberg, maar ook voor de karakteristieke Kaapse heuvels. De kleuren: rood, wit en blauw zijn de traditionele kleuren van de Westkaap, het zijn ook de kleuren van de vrijheid. Het gouden kruis of zonnestralen, representeert de rijkdom van de Kaap in al zijn vormen: cultuur, tradities, diversiteit, talen, natuur, dieren en grondstoffen.
Afrikaans: Nie-amptelike voorstel geïnspireer deur die vlag van die onafhanklike Kaapse beweging en die huidige Suid-Afrikaanse vlag. Die groen deel simboliseer fynbos, die natuur, wingerdbou en die tafelberg, maar ook die kenmerkende Kaapse heuwels. Die kleure: rooi, wit en blou is die tradisionele kleure van die Wes-Kaap, dit is ook die kleure van vryheid. Die goue kruis, of strale van die son, verteenwoordig die rykdom van die Kaap in al sy vorme: kultuur, tradisies, diversiteit, tale, natuur, diere en hulpbronne. |
