500px provided description: Thirty years ago, the Gorner Glacier was still flowing through this gorge, while the Breithorn Glacier, the white ice tongue in the back, connected to it. Now only bits of sunlit black ice can be seen behind the gorge. I am just beginning to process photos from a productive camping tour around Zermatt. This one was taken while opening clouds from the previous night's snowfall exposed light snow powdering on the brown grass and revealed the full vertical dimension of the scene. Comments welcomed!
