Nederlands: Het hoofd van de kanselarij en tweede luitenant van de grootvizier, zittend op de grond achter zijn schrijftafel, omringd door paperassen. Van 2 augustus 1718 tot de opstand van Patrona Halil in september 1730 was Üçanbarli Mehmed Efendi in functie als de Reis Efendi. Hij werd beschouwd als een van de grootste geleerden van zijn tijd en er zijn relatief veel biografische gegevens over hem bekend. Hij werd geboren in Istanbul in 1673 of 1674 en overleed in augustus of september van het jaar 1732. Op het portret dat Vanmour van hem maakte is hij waarschijnlijk circa 57 jaar oud. Zijn bijnaam was Üçanbarli, wat ‘de drie pakhuizen’ betekent en verwijst naar zijn bezittingen.
