English: Drain clearance at Craven Cottage, near to Fulham, Hammersmith And Fulham, Great Britain.
Not a lot of other activity at the ground. This scene is at the southeastern corner; the junction of Finlay Street with Stevenage Road (the main road past the stadium) is on the right, On the left, with the words "The Fulham Football Club" on the gable end, can be seen the Pavilion, built in "1905 to the design of Archibald Leitch. Eclectic style with Queen Anne Revival features ... the only surviving pavilion in a senior British football club" <a title="http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-201947-office-to-south-of-grandstand-at-fulham-" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-201947-office-to-south-of-grandstand-at-fulham-">Link</a><img style="padding-left:2px;" alt="External link" title="External link - shift click to open in new window" src="http://s0.geograph.org.uk/img/external.png" width="10" height="10"/> , and dubbed "The Cottage", although the cottage orn� that gave the ground its name has long disappeared. Ogive gables surmount the wall containing the entrances to the stands. |
