Deutsch: Jean Paul Friedrich Richter(1763-1825) Stich von H. Sintzenich nach der Zeichnung von H. Pfenniger. Durch Charlotte von Kalb im Juni 1796 in Weimar und besonders in den Herderschen Kreis eingeführt, gewann Jean Paul nicht Goethes Zuneigung. Goethe rechnete Jean Pauls Werke wegen ihrer Zwitterhaftigkeit in Form und Inhalt zum Tragelaphen-(Bockhirsch-) Geschlecht.
