[edit]DescriptionLisa Kaeser 2007 (cropped).jpg |
English: PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii (May 4, 2007) - Quartermaster 2nd Class Lisa Kaeser, assigned to guided missile destroyer USS Hopper (DDG 70), stands by to release a mooring line as Sailors aboard the Pearl Harbor-based guided missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70) prepare to depart for a deployment to the western Pacific. Lake Erie recently conducted a successful ballistic missile defense exercise in the Hawaiian Operating Area, successfully engaging targets using the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) shipboard weapon system. The test demonstrated Lake Erie’s ability to engage a ballistic missile threat and defend itself from attack at the same time.
