Summary
[edit]DescriptionVespucci coat of arms (with cup).png |
English: Arms of the Vespucci family of Florence. Based on depictions in Ognissanti district (e.g. tomb of Amerigo, File:Chiesa di Ognissanti, tomba amerigo vepucci.JPG; family chapel File:Ognissanti, cappella vespucci 2, stemma 01.JPG). The name "Vespucci" is related to wasps (vespa), thus the arms are wasps or on azure bend on field gules. Badge of cup with flowers ([1]) was granted by Alfonso V of Aragon/II of Sicily to Giovanni di Simone Vespucci and his descendants, and does not apply to other branches of the family. |
