Revision as of 21:24, 23 March 2020

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on March 23, 2020.

Jewish Maoism

While Jewish Maoism would logically belong under the larger umbrella of the Jewish left, there's no discussion of it at the article, and I couldn't find relevant discussion elsewhere, so this will probably disappoint readers. BDD (talk) 21:15, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Racial homogeneity

I was looking for a discussion of racial/ethnic homogeneity and a list or discussion of which countries have more or less racial and ethnic diversity. The closest thing I've been able to find to that is Monoethnicity, but race isn't necessarily same as ethnicity, so I don't know if that's a suitable target. At this point, I'd be ok with retargeting there or deleting. (Note that the section this redirect targets is no longer there.) BDD (talk) 21:07, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Coomalie (disambigaution)

Typo in disambiguation qualifier 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:37, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ok can we merge all of these into one nomination? There are like 15 of these so far. OcelotCreeper (talk) 20:54, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
And, support merge of all similar nominations. My !vote will be identical in all of them. Narky Blert (talk) 21:01, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Eslam Qal`eh (disambguation)

Typo from disambiguation qualifier and wrongly placed grave accent. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:35, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Grimmelshausen (diasmbiguation)

Typo in disambiguation qualifier, existed for four years. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:34, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(disambiguation)

Could equally link to WP:DAB or Disambiguation, WP:XY. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:28, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

North Gippsland (disambiguatoin)

Typo in disambiguation qualifier from move. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:26, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dab page

Previous RfDs for this redirect and similar redirects:

Retarget to WP:DAB. I see no other meanings of DAB that include pages. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:23, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Crambe (diambiguation)

Typo in disambiguation qualifier, existed for six years. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:10, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sideman (diambiguation)

Typo in disambiguation qualifier from move, existed for five years. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:10, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Binzhou (diambiguation)

Typo in disambiguation qualifier from move, existed for four years. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:09, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning shot (diambiguation)

Typo in disambiguation qualifier from move. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:08, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

$cientology

I don't think we need a satiric misspelling for any purpose. See also [[1]]. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 20:03, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kase (disambigation)

Typo in disambiguative qualifier. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 19:42, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What does the phrase "disambiguative qualifier" mean please? S a g a C i t y (talk) 19:52, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Saga City: The user means that the typo in the redirect comes from the word "disambiguation". OcelotCreeper (talk) 19:56, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@OcelotCreeper: Comment: Pings only work when added in the same edit as the signature. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:02, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So just fix it - I can't see why this is being discussed here. S a g a C i t y (talk) 20:05, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
See Template:R from unnecessary disambiguation. I remembered a similar wording to be used somewhere, now found the source. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 20:07, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@1234qwer1234qwer4: Thanks for explaining how pinging works, this is my first ping where someone hadn't pinged me first in the same conversation. OcelotCreeper (talk) 20:56, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
That comment shows why you should not be getting page mover thrown your way. See WP:MOVEREDIRECT for an explanation why it is generally advisable not to move redirects. -- Tavix (talk) 20:19, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Antonio j pietro

The company's exec is Antonio Pietri. Misspelling + miscapitalization seems like far enough of an edit distance to justify deletion, if not speedy deletion. signed, Rosguill talk 19:37, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Paza (disambiuation)

Typo in disambiguative qualifier, although existed as R from move for over five years. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 19:37, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Shaken baby syndrom

No need for a misspelled redirect, especially since this overshadows the correctly spelled Shaken baby syndrome in the search box. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 19:12, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

JohnAbbott

No reason for CamelCase here. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 19:07, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pennfylvania

Failed attemmpt at inserting a long s, i.e. Pennſylvania. Same user created two other redirects listed below. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 19:03, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

EPnnsylvania

Miscapitalized and implausibly misspelled. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:56, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oregroun

Unlikely misspelling. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:56, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Norse Dakota

Not even close to plausible. Created by a MascotGuy sock. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:56, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

State of new yourk

Miscapitalized and misspelled. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:51, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Xichigan

Supposedly a non-neutral nickname for Michigan, but not mentioned anywhere on Wikipedia. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:47, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lwizyana

Bizarre misspelling. Is this a WP:FORRED, by any chance? –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:43, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

NCoV (SARS)

WP:XY. From what understood from Novel coronavirus, nCoV is used for strains and not species. In this case, the title could refer to SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 16:46, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: I've notified WP:MED.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, BDD (talk) 18:41, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

INdiana

Miscapitalization typo similar to previously-deleted ones like LEad and UNited States. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:38, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Added a similar redirect. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:43, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Haiwaii

Not exactly the most plausible misspellings, though a far cry from Uthium below. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:29, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Connnecticut

No word in the English language has three or more consecutive repetitions of a letter. This is not Kashyyyk. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:24, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Elaska

Elaska? Who would search this? –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:20, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Uraniam

Unlikely misspelling, could also refer to Uranian or anything at the corresponding DAB. See also the RfD for Indiam. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:11, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Uninunium

Misspelled systematic names. Far fewer views than the correctly spelled Unununium and Ununoctium. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:11, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Astaine

This doesn't sound particularly plausible, since it's missing the second T. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:11, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Plantium

This doesn't sound particularly plausible, unlike Plantinum or the more-viewed Platnium. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 18:11, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bromeen

With regards to the deletion of Kloreen by and three others by the same user. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 17:46, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Note. Page creator DudeWithAFeud was WP:INDEFfed in November 2015. Narky Blert (talk) 18:38, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm...I can dig that, but this (or more so chlorine) is not very uncommon and -ine seems like the usual spelling. Are there any rhyming words in English that end with -een? ComplexRational (talk) 19:36, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I guess there are no rhyming words for chlorine at all; however, there are words like queen and teen (as well as adjectives like green) that end with -een. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 19:55, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Doreen. Narky Blert (talk) 21:17, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sulvere

This one doesn't seem particularly plausible, either. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 17:38, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment: This word is the Sanskrit word from which the name of this element might have originated (the other being the Latin "sulfurium," as shown by sources found with Google search). Regards, SONIC678 17:59, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete as WP:RFFL, no particular affinity to Sanskrit. Narky Blert (talk) 18:23, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. I can see someone's finger slipping off the F and onto the V, but "ere" is very implausible. --Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬📝) 18:59, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Uthium

I've decided to reconcile this failed RfD by nominating the pages by element. This one is one of the strangest typos I've ever encountered. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 17:34, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kumagai Morikazu

This is a soft redirect to the Japanese article about this person, who appears to have been an early 20th century Japanese painter. I don't believe interlanguage redirects are appropriate in article space, however there is no speedy deletion criteria that applies. This should either be replaced by an English language article or deleted. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 15:25, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stamatina Kanellopoulou and Iakovos Koumis

Whilst I understand from other sources that these 2 people were the 2 killed in 1980, the article does not say so (and anyone following these redirects will not learn that) and so unless there is notability and a change to the article then WP:NOTMEMORIAL applies. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 10:22, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(disambiguation) (disambiguation)

I'm not sure why anyone would look for a page using "disambiguation" twice other than to search for Disambiguation (disambiguation), which lists uses for the term "disambiguation," leaning delete on these two redirects. Regards, SONIC678 05:28, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aulus Plautius (dismabiguation)

This redirect was left over from a page move to the correct spelling of "disambiguation," and the link to there in Aulus Plautius was changed to reflect this move. As per the outcome of an earlier discussion concerning four redirects with this misspelling of "disambiguation", this should also be deleted. Regards, SONIC678 05:17, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was speedy keep. Nomination withdrawn, didn't see the table (non-admin closure) Hog Farm (talk) 13:58, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Minor fictional calendar entry no longer mentioned in target article. Delete as clutter. Hog Farm (talk) 02:42, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - all of these remain in the table of the months in the named section. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:24, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Green Hill Country

Minor fictional region no longer mentioned in its target article. No merges have occurred, so no WP:ATT issues. A Google search indicates real-world usages of this term, but they mostly appear to be non-notable country clubs. Hog Farm (talk) 02:39, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Well, we're down to very minor details, but Tolkien's whole approach was to work from names up to stories, so details are significant, and redirects are cheap. Tolkien lived at Sarehole and walked along Green Hill Road to visit his grandparents, the likely origin of the name. I've added a footnote with citation. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:43, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was speedy keep. Withdrawn, I'm fine with the sourced mention (non-admin closure) Hog Farm (talk) 14:00, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Middle-earth inn no longer mentioned in articles, and no attribution issues with deletion, as it has always been a redirect. Deletion would be preferable so we don't give readers the impression content exists on this subject. Hog Farm (talk) 02:37, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Obscure fictional calendar item, no longer mentioned in the target article and it's removal not challenged. Also, there's doesn't appear to be a page about filth in the winter to target to. Hog Farm (talk) 02:35, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - remains in table of the months in the named section. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:23, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy keep. Withdrawn, didn't see the table, not going to waste editor time here (non-admin closure) Hog Farm (talk) 13:59, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Obscure fictional month where the content has been removed from the target page and said removal was not challenged. No longer necessary, as the lack of coverage of this subject will only be confusing to readers. Hog Farm (talk) 02:33, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - remains in table of the months in the named section. Chiswick Chap (talk) 09:23, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bill Blythe IV

Clinton was born as William Blythe III, not William Blythe IV. Delete as from incorrect name. Hog Farm (talk) 02:18, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ben Nyaumbe

Not sure what the appropriate venue for this is. It went through an AfD in 2009: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ben Nyaumbe, which was closed as "merge to snake". I can't believe that the original content would survive an AfD in 2020, and am somewhat shocked that it was kicked down to a redirect rather than deleted outright as recently as 2009 (seems more like 2007 or earlier Wikipedia behavior). No mention of this term at any target, nothing encyclopedic to retain. Plantdrew (talk) 02:07, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
