Tazing Dong (also known as Bijay) is a peak of Bangladesh. Officialy, it is the biggest mountain of Bangladesh.[1] it located on "Saichol Mountain ranges", Ruma Upazila, Bandarban District, southeastern of Bangladesh. Formerly, it was thought that Keokradong is the highest mountain of Bangladesh. But in modern research this information has been proved wrong.[2] An unofficial research proved to Saka Haphong is the highest peak inner Bangladesh. But it's not recognized by authorities.[3]

Location

Tazing Dong is located on "Saichol Mountain ranges", Remakri Union, Ruma Upazila, Bandarban District, Bangladesh. It is 25 k.m. away from Upazila Sadar of Ruma Upazila. There is a tribal village near this peak.

Naming Reason

As of dialect of local tribals, "Tazing" means Big or Highest and "Dong" means Mountain or "Peak". from this two words named this peak. as officially, named it with "Bijay Mountain."
