George Ralph Noory (born June 4, 1950) is an American radio broadcaster.

As of 2006, he is the weekday host of the late-night radio talk show Coast to Coast AM. Noory was born in Detroit, Michigan; but he grew up in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. He now resides in Los Angeles, California and occasionally broadcasts from St. Louis, Missouri. Noory has more than 37 years of broadcasting experience and has won three Emmy awards.

Noory served nine years in the United States Navy. He has said that he became fascinated with ufology and the paranormal as a child after having an out-of-body experience. As a teenager, Noory joined NICAP, the UFO organization that was a precursor to today's MUFON.

Prior to hosting Coast to Coast AM, Noory hosted his own late-night radio program on KTRS-550 in St. Louis where he was known as "The Nighthawk." The show, like Coast-to-Coast, also dealt with the paranormal, and was carried by stations in five states.

George came to St Louis in 1979 to be news director at KSDK channel 5 before making the transition back to radio.

At the age of 28 he became the youngest news director in the country while at KMSP channel 9 in Minneapolis MN.

While living in Detroit he worked in the news department of WCAR-1130 in Detroit, and later at Storer Broadcasting's Detroit CBS affiliate WJBK channel 2. Just prior to Jimmy Hoffa's disappearance on July 30, 1975, George interviewed the former Teamster President.

Noory, was broadcast major at the University of Detroit (MI).

Noory's family is said to be of Lebanese Christian descent and his father was born in Cairo in 1922. According to Noory, he was brought up as a Roman Catholic and his mother was a devout Catholic. He says he believes in "a God", but some of his views, for instance, on reincarnation and the creation of the human race by aliens are contradictory with official Christian dogma.

George Noory is currently divorced. (He once referred to the stress of working as a late-night talk show host as one of the reasons for his failed marriage.) He has three adult children, a son and two daughters and three granddaughters, as well as two nieces who are currently pursuing modelling careers in L.A.

Noory became a guest host for Coast-to-Coast before replacing Ian Punnett as the Sunday night host. On January 1st, 2003, Noory took over weeknight hosting duties from Art Bell, who had again decided to retire. On January 21, 2006, it was announced that Bell would return to Coast to Coast on Saturdays and Sundays, replacing Punnett on Saturdays, and Noory on the first two Sundays of the month. Bell returned to the airwaves the next night, following his wife's death on January 5. While Punnett went on to host the Coast to Coast Live spin-off on Saturday nights, Noory remained the weeknight host. With Noory as host, Coast to Coast AM experienced a continuous boost in listenership and became the top-rated late night radio talk show in several radio markets nationwide.

Noory has repeatedly announced on-air that he is committed to remaining the principal host of "Coast" until at least 2012, a year frequently called the so-called "Doomsday". His commitment is substantiated by a long-term contract with Premiere Radio Networks, a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications which also produces radio programs for Rush Limbaugh, Dr. Laura, and Glenn Beck. Despite Noory's recent retraction of staying on until 2012 (Noory has vowed on-air that he will stay on until he is "dragged out"), Noory has stood by his foreboding notion that 2012 will be a year of calamitous change on a global scale.

Recently, Noory introduced Art Bell for his Lifetime Achievement Award from "Radio & Records", the radio industry trade journal. The next evening he replayed his introductory speech and Art Bell's acceptance speech. Although he has worked for Coast-to-Coast since 2001, Noory revealed the night before that that was the first time he has met Art Bell in person.

Near the end of 2006, Noory completed work on a Sci-Fi Channel pilot entitled Predictions With George Noory, featuring notable Coast to Coast AM guests Ed Dames, Stan Deyo, Joseph Jacobs, Dr. Louis Turi, Hans Christian King, Dr Art Rosengarten, Glynis 'The Numbers Lady' McCants and Sean David Morton. [1] However, on the February 15th broadcast of Coast to Coast AM, Noory mentioned receiving a letter from the channel stating that despite liking the pilot, they were not ready for it... yet. (Noory remarked that Sci-Fi was "still airing wrestling). Although the pilot was not picked up, Noory insists that the project is not dead. ^{[citation needed]} Predictions, however, is said to be "date specific" for 2007, so if the pilot doesn't air by June, the likelihood of the pilot's airing will almost be non-existent. ^{[citation needed]}

Noory is known for his mild-mannered interviewing style and willingness to air callers with claims of alien abductions, near-death experiences and other paranormal events. In the past, he has made some unusual claims on his show, namely that he was once an alien named Bob in his past life. Such claims may be nothing more than Noory's tongue-in-cheek musings, meant to heighten the air of mystery embodied in the show's very premise.

On 19 September 2006, Noory released his first book with co-author William J. Birnes titled, Worker in the Light: Unlock Your Five Senses And Liberate Your Limitless Potential. Written as a step-by-step guide, citing examples from his own life, the book is Noory's contribution to the arena of self-help books teaching readers how to overcome personal limitations, frustration, doubts, fears and life's dire straits. ^{[citation needed]}
