Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Consistent vandalism. After the previous wave of controversial edits, a week of increased protection was given (requested March 12), but as soon as it expired, malicious edits started pouring again (e.g. 1 and 2, etc.). Ymblanter, can you help, please? —ELindas (talk) 20:14, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This time it looks like content dispute to me. Ymblanter (talk) 20:18, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is best if another administrator takes a look. Ymblanter (talk) 20:20, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Declined – Content dispute. Please use the article's talk page or other forms of dispute resolution. per above. I have left a CTOPS notice on the talk page, though. Daniel Case (talk) 03:30, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Repeated addition of content in violation of copyright. Sincerely, Guessitsavis (she/they) (Talk) 22:01, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Declined It's on AfD, meaning we should more circumspect about protecting, and as it's looking likely to be deleted there's really no long-term need. Daniel Case (talk) 03:40, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Content dispute

See also WP:Administrators'_noticeboard/Edit_warring#User:Softlemonades_reported_by_User:Cambial_Yellowing_(Result:_). Softlem (talk) 22:08, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Given the cause of the disruption on the page is your own edit warring over multiple issues, Softlemonades, not only is this request bizarre, but protection is unnecessary. If you want to prevent further disruption, the appropriate thing to do is for you to stop doing it. Cambial foliar❧ 23:07, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Consensus on the page is that I did not edit war. After I requested you started repeating edits [1] that you had a page block for [2] before Talk:WikiLeaks/Archive_8#Improper_editing
And you are not answering questions about your edits on Talk and broke WP:SUMMARYNO so I asked for protection Softlem (talk) 23:50, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That isn't a "repeat" of an earlier edit, and your claim about WP:SUMMARYNO has no basis. You've made three or four more reverts since that discussion, and your warring over practically anything is becoming a problem. I've responded on article talk, which you know to be the case because you've engaged with my responses to questions. Please don't lie about other editor's actions, here or anywhere. It's rude. Cambial foliar❧ 00:19, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ordinarily I would grant a few days of full protection for you to work it out on the talk page. But based on the above and what I've seen of you two at the ANEW thread this started, I doubt very much that the two of you alone will be able to do anything more than further butt heads for that time.
You both need to have other voices in this so that consensus can be clearer. If it keeps going the way it has been the only option will be long blocks from this page. Daniel Case (talk) 04:28, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent Disruptive Editing. While far from ideal to protect a page that is at AfD, the AfD template has been removed repeatedly, primarily by IP editors, in the last 25 hours (7 times by my count, and once by an autoconfirmed user) Shaws username . talk . 22:56, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of one week, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. for the duration of the AfD. Daniel Case (talk) 04:20, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Half a dozen editors are continuing to add unverified, promotional, unencyclopedic material to this article. It may be that only ECP will do; a few of the accounts have been here before. Drmies (talk) 23:05, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected for a period of three days, after which the page will be automatically unprotected. Daniel Case (talk) 04:23, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Idiosincrático (talk) 04:40, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary Semi-Protection: Persistent Sockpuppetry — It was edit by globally banned uesr Rgalo10 to vandalism this page it says on the edit summaries. 12.41.123.169 (talk) 05:28, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously Rgalo10 is cursing bad language on edit summaries.

Indefinite create protection: Repeatedly recreated – Sock target. Kinopiko talk 05:31, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reason: There are always some unknown IP addresses that will consistently vandalise the page to create multiple edits, making it difficult to rollback the changes. These unknown IP addresses have been doing this for years so that he/she can add this liner "Widely regarded as one of the greatest badminton players of all time" to the article even though that liner breached the wiki policy (see WP:OR). As season wiki editors, we have repeatedly highlighted this to the perpetrator but he/she refused to stop. We would like to seek admin help to increase the page protection to infinite to prevent such issues from happening again so that we can focus on more important tasks at hand. Thanks!
