Paloukia ( in Greek Παλούκια ) which means poles in English is an area in Salamis Island . It is located at the northeast of island . Many ferry boats , passenger ships , fishing - vessels , port police crafts are ground to the area . The area is close to Greek Naval Base ( in Greek Nafstathmos ) , which is armied and equiped warships and submarines . Paloukia also is near to Ampelakia . The visitors , who come to Salamis Island , first get to Paloukia with passenger ships from proximate areas of Perama or Piraeus , or with ferry boats , if they have vehicles , from Perama because has and offer place for the grounding of ferry boats . In Paloukia currently opened another Kanakis supermarket chain .

Villages, towns and municipal districts
