Clarence Major

Clarence Major (b. 1936) is an American poet, novelist and painter. Major was a finalist for the National Book Awards in 1999. He also received a National Council on The Arts Award in 1970 for his collection of poetry "Swallow the Lake."

Major is currently a professor of twentieth century American literature at the University of California at Davis.[1]
