Lake Placid 2 is a 2007 made-for-television horror film starring John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville) produced by Sony Pictures and the Sci Fi Channel. This made-for-television sequel to the 1999 film, Lake Placid, aired as a Sci Fi Channel original movie on April 28, 2007. The unrated DVD release of the film is distributed by 20th Century Fox.

The movie was filmed in Bulgaria and directed by David Flores.[2] The film received generally poor reviews, citing an unoriginal plot and low-budget special effects.[3][4]

The DVD to the film was released on January 29, 2008. It is available in R-rated (84 minutes) and unrated cuts (88 minutes). Nudity was added in the unrated cut. Special features consist of three making-of film documentaries.

Plot Synopsis:

The film opens up with two men, Frank (Robert Blush) and his buddy, Tillman (Michael McCoy), who are collecting water samples from the lake. As Tillman, puts his hand in the water to collect his final water sample, he is suddenly pulled down into the lake by something big and ferocious. When he rises above the surface, his hand has been bitten off and starts screaming for help. As Tillman tries to swim up to Frank, he is then pulled all the way down into the lake and all that's left of him are the remains of Tillman's severed right arm that Frank was holding on to try to get him into the boat (we don't see in the beginning that Tillman was actually being pulled down and eaten by one of the crocodiles).

Later on, we meet Sheriff Riley (John Schneider) and his son, Scott (Chad Collins). Sheriff Riley receives a radio transmission on his walkie-talkie about the incident that occurred with Frank and Tillman on the lake and goes out to investigate what happened. He first goes to the Police Department where Frank is there to deliver the news about what happened to Tillman on the lake. By proving his statement true, Frank brings Riley into a morgue and shows him Tillman's severed arm, leading him into believing Frank's explanation. Soon enters Sheriff Riley's ex-wife, Emily (Sarah Lafleur) and the three go out to the place where the incident happened on the lake to see if there's anymore evidence of Tillman's unknown death.

As they go through the lake, Emily sees an old house right across from them. According to Riley, that's the house where *Crazy* Sadie Bickerman, supposedly the sister of Delores Bickerman played by Betty White from the original, lives. Sheriff Riley also reveals to Frank and Emily that "...she used to feed live cattle to a couple of 40-foot prehisotric crocs she kept in her backyard." The detail of Sadie Bickerman as told by Riley leads Frank into believing that there actually was a crocodile who killed Tillman, but Emily refuses to believe that there are any crocodiles living on the lake. A few seconds later, Sheriff Riley stops the boat because Emily sees *something* in the water. When she goes down and retrieves it, it appears to be Tillman's head. Now, Frank enlists everybody that there is a crocodile out there, but Emily still refuses to believe him. To find out what is really going on, Riley takes the trio over to *Crazy Sadie's* house for information.

As we go to the next scene, we see three campers, Mike (Vlado Mihaylov), Sharon (Yana Marinova) and Edie (Zhasmina Toskova) that are unpacking and are ready to go swimming in the lake. We cut back to where Riley, Emily and Frank finally arriving at Sadie's house. We get to meet Sadie (Cloris Leachman). As Emily and Riley try to ask her about the incident that happened or if she knows if there are any crocodiles on the lake, she refuses to answer and tells them to get off her property. Frank, still concerned, feels that Sadie knows something and doesn't want to tell it to them, so the three once again go out on the lake and investigate some more to look for anymore evidence.

When they leave, we cut back to the scene with Mike unpacking the girls' tents and sleeping bags, while Sharon and Edie are both paroding around in the lake (they are both naked). Mike tells them that he's going to come in and take a swim. As he's getting ready, one of the crocodiles emerges and kills both Sharon and Edie. Mike turns around and sees the girls are gone. Looking all over to see where they are, Mike sees one of the girls' bathing suits that surfaced from the lake that's saturated in blood. When he turns around again, he is then killed by the same crocodile.

Meanwhile, Sheriff Riley's son, Scott has left home to take a little walk in the forest. As he's walking, he is introduced to Kerri (Alicia Ziegler) and her friend, Thad (Ian Reed Kessler) and is invited to a camp overnight with the two and their other friends, Rachel and Larry. As they leave to go to the campsite, Sadie has a guest over, Cal Miner (Jonas Talkington). Miner wants Sadie to tell him everything that Riley and Emily said to her. Sadie then starts pointing out to a group of white perch jumping up and down in the lake and tells Miner that she promised she'd get him a *snack*. As she leaves, Miner is standing towards the edge of the dock and sees something big moving against the white perch and that something approaches Cal, thereby killing him off Sadie's dock. When Sadie returns with a tray of fingerfoods, she sees Cal is no longer on the dock because, as Sadie proclaims, "I guess he really wasn't hungry." and goes back into the house.

We then see Sheriff Riley, Emily and Frank still looking for evidence on the lake and as Frank is knocked off the boat and into the water, accidentally by Riley, one of the crocodiles approaches them and eventually, destroys their boat. Luckily, Riley, Emily and Frank are able to swim back to shore in one piece. Now on shore, they see a plane hovering over the lake and has landed into the area. We see the men getting out of the plane, big-game animal hunter, Struthers (Sam McMurray) and his bodyguard, Ahmad (Joe Holt), saying that they got a tip from Miner that there might be something worth killing in the lake. So, the two join forces with Riley, Emily and Frank and start to make a campsite, figuring out what to do now that they've just seen one of the crocodiles in the lake.

Later on, we see Scott, Kerri and Thad with their two other friends, Rachel (VJ Kewl) and Larry (Justin Urich) arriving at the campsite. Larry, Thad and Kerri all decide to go for a swim in the lake, while Rachel stays behind to get a good sun tan and Scott goes out for another walk in the forest. Meanwhile, Struthers, Riley, Ahmad, Frank and Emily have set up camp and decided that they're going to trap the crocodile alive. With the help of Riley's deputy, Davis (Terence H. Winkless), they decide to lure the crocodile in by placing a turtle into a net, so the crocodile could come in and eat the turtle, therefore trapping him in the net. Unfortunately, a wild boar has gotten itself trapped and Riley tries to push it away using a stick. On his last push, the crocodile then comes in and consumes the entire boar. Riley steps back and uses a tranquilizer gun to put the croc to sleep. Moments later, we the croc coming out of the bushes to the front of where the six are standing. Davis gets a rope to put around the crocodile's mouth, but unfortunately, the croc breaks free of the rope and eventually kills both Davis and Frank.

Emily, now smitten because of the loss of their two friends, agrees with Struthers plan to hunt down and kill the crocodile from killing anymore individuals. We then cut back to where Scott is still walking in the forest. As he's walking, he witnesses a mother crocodile nest, and goes back to the campsite to enlist everyone to come and see the nest. Kerri and Thad agree to go with him, while Rachel and Larry decide to stay back at the campsite. Meanwhile, Ahmad has gotten together a boat equipped with a harpoon and a dead boar, to use as bait and the four now set out to hunt down and kill the crocodile. Back at the campsite, Larry is swimming in the lake, not knowing that another crocodile is swimming right below him. Larry looks behind and sees only Kerri's dog, Daisy in the water. As Daisy starts swimming away, Rachel, believing that she's talking to Larry, tells Larry to stay away from her feet. But when Larry looks towards Rachel, he screams out, "Rachel, that's not me!", and Rachel then looks in front of her and sees the crocodile. Larry quickly gets out of the water and tries to save Rachel from being eaten by the crocodile. Despite his weak strength, Rachel is dragged by the crocodile and pulled into the lake, concluding that the crocodile had killed Rachel. Larry screams for help and abandons the campsite to go and find Scott, Kerri and Thad in the forest.

As Ahmad and Struthers are getting everything ready, Ahmad says to Struthers that they may not leave the lake because, according to him, the crocodiles are "...real big, real smart..fast on water and on land." But Struthers says they shouldn't worry. His plan is to make the crocodile wait itself out on shore, hull it in over empty lines, get one clean shot and it's over. Struthers assures ahmad that everyone will be fine. Meanwhile, Scott, Kerri and Thad have all arrived at the crocodile nest and Kerri and Thad discover a group of eggs inside the nest. Scott tells them to put the eggs back in the nest, despite not knowing exactly what kind of egg it is. Kerri agrees to put hers back while Thad, acting in a joking matter, throws his into a tree. Now, Scott and Thad begin to argue that whatever laid the eggs would hurt them. Kerri steps in and breaks up the fight between the two. Thad starts heading back to the nest after feeling rejected by Kerri's statement and breaks another crocodile egg. While he's speaking sarcastically towards Kerri and Scott, another crocodile, the mother, appears from behind the nest and sees that Thad disturbed her nest. Kerri tries to warn Thad that there's a giant crocodile behind him, but he refuses to believe her. As she tells him that she's not kidding, he starts believing that she thinks he's an idiot. Thad then turns around after pretending to be crying that there is a giant crocodile behind him, and the mother crocodile subsequently emerges and kills Thad. Scott and Kerri, both stricken with fear, run into the forest, where they hope to find a secure hiding place to prevent them from being eaten by the crocodile.

Meanwhile, Riley, Ahmad, Struthers and Emily begin to track the crocodile down. Riley and Ahmad are in the boat tracking the croc on the lake, Emily is on shore with a rifle, transmitting device and tracking equipment to let Riley and Ahmad know when and where the crocodile is coming from and Struthers is hovering ahead in his plane right above Ahmad and Riley. Despite Emily's assurances, the tracking equipment that Ahmad assembled proves faulty, providing only little coverage for everyone. Suddenly, the crocodile grabs the dead boar with its mouth and Ahmad finally shoots the harpoon at it. Hoping that the harpoon will let the crocodile drown in enough time, Struthers begins to proceed down to strike the crocodile when it comes back up to the surface. Unfortunately, Emily appears to have lost the crocodile's position again, and everyone now starts growing worrily. As Sheriff Riley looks around, he sees the croc swim back up to the surface and Ahmad is ready with the second harpoon, but Struthers tells him that he gets the *kill shot*, and an argument begins to form over the two. As the crocodile approaches Riley and Ahmad, Ahmad tries to shoot the second harpoon at it, but unavoidably, Struthers' plane gets in the way of Ahmad's aim, and the harpoon is shot into one of the sides of Struther's landing floaters. Riley and Ahmad then manage to abandon the boat before it is destroyed by Struthers' plane and Struthers falls out of the bottom of his plane before it is destroyed by flying off by itself and crashing into the forest. With Struthers treading water in the lake, the crocodile starts approaching him. Ahmad steps in, wielding a machete and begins to stab the crocodile, but it throws Ahmad off its face and onto shore. Emily comes in now, armed with the rifle and begins shooting at the crocodile. As the crocodile starts moving closer towards Emily, despite having only shot the croc three times, Ahmad is able to save her by stabbing the crocodile's palatal valve with the machete, thereby, killing the crocodile.

With the crocodile finally killed, the group sets up camp and goes to rest for the night after a hard day's work. While Struthers has difficulties getting his tent set up, another crocodile comes out of the lake and proceeds towards the campsite, with everyone asleep in their tents. Meanwhile, Scott and Kerri have managed to cover up enough ground in the forest. Not knowing where they are or where they're going, Scott tells Kerri that they should try to find a good hiding place. Having found a good hiding place in the bushes of the forest, Scott and Kerri reunite with Larry, who has just came all the way around the other side of the forest to deliver the bad news to Scott and Kerri that Rachel didn't make it and they tell him that Thad didn't make it either. To prevent anyone from panicing, the three set out to find a place they can use for shelter to wait out the pooring rain.

Over at the campsite, the other crocodile has discovered Struthers' tent. Struthers suddenly wakes up and sees the crocodile right in front of him and calls Ahmad for help. Ahmad succeeds in getting Struthers out of the tent with his machete and starts turning over to the crocodile to kill it. Unfortunately, the giant croc fights back viciously and kills Ahmad. Emily, who has just woken up at the sound of Ahmads' screaming, wakes up Sheriff Riley to get rid of the crocodile at once, while Struthers has been knocked down unconsciously. Seconds later, Riley gets out a 9mm and begins shooting at the crocodile. The croc then goes back into the lake and Struthers has awoken from his mental state of paralyzation.

Seeing that there's yet another crocodile still loose, Sheriff Riley calls up his other deputy (Andrea Enright) who is still back at the Police Department. Having received the call, she tells Riley that Scott had called earlier and said he was going camping at night with some friends up at the lake and that she hasn't heard from him since (it should be noticed the reason why that is is because they were all attacked by the crocodiles). Riley says that he told her to close the lake and that nobody's supposed to be out on the lake. Unfortunately, according to her, she didn't what he meant by that. Now realizing his son is out on the lake, Riley, Emily and Struthers team up to go and find him along with any of his other friends (the crocodiles having killed two of them already). In order to know what they're up against, Riley suggests that they go to *Crazy Sadie's* house again, and this time, uncover the truth of what's really going on.

Meanwhile, as Scott, Kerri and Larry have now just found themselves a tree, they encounter yet another crocodile, waiting to attack them. Scott enlists that they climb up and use the tree as a conservative shelter to stay away from the crocodile. Together, they use the trees' branches to sleep on for the night.

After a hike in the forest, Riley, Emily and Struthers finally arrive at Sadie's house again in search for answers behind the unknown mischievous crocodile incident that's now descended upon the lake. Sadie finally confesses by telling them that there are three crocodiles out on the lake. Concerned about their enormous sizes, Riley asks Sadie what she's been feeding them before they started attacking the people. Sadie shows Riley her basement where she kept her own personal private stock of beef rejected by the FDA. She also said she's noticed that they've all been getting a lot hungrier lately too. Getting all the answers they wanted, the group now sets off to go and find Scott on the lake.

Going through the vastly plains of the forest, Riley, Emily and Struthers discover the crocodile nest that Scott had previously found before, and see Thads' corpse inside of it as well as more of the mother crocodiles' eggs. Emily enlists that the mother croc is still close by, hungry and ticked, and says that they need to get the eggs out of the nest as soon as possible. With that, Emily and Struthers stay behind to collect the eggs from the nest, and Riley, now armed with a grenade launcher, sets off to go and find Scott in the forest alone.

Meanwhile, as Scott and Kerri are waking up from a rough night, Larry accidentally falls off the branch of the tree. Scott asks Larry if he's okay and Larry says he's fine. He also proclaims, "..this ground is really soft." Looking down from above the tree branch, Scott and Kerri see that Larry's lying down, face-up on the crocodile's back. Scott then tells Larry that's not the ground and Larry doesn't know what he's talking about. After taking a few more feels of where or what he's landed on, Larry hears the growling noises coming from the crocodile, screams and gets up from its back. Kerri shouts out to Larry, "Run!", so Larry starts running, but slips and falls onto the ground, and the crocodile grabs Larry's foot and drags him through the ground, thereby, killing him.

Luckily, Riley has heard Larry's screams coming from the direction where Scott and Kerri are still. Not wanting to spend another night resting on the branches of the tree, Scott and Kerri begin to climb down the tree to go and look for help. When they finally get down, they see two crocodiles approaching them (one of them being the one that killed Larry). As the two try to attampt an escape, Kerri's dog, Daisy, comes in and begins fighting off the crocodiles, giving Scott and Kerri enough time to escape the monstrous beasts. As they start running away, Kerri slips and falls onto the ground and Scott quickly goes back to get her as one of the crocodiles is now approaching both of them. Fortunately, Sheriff Riley sees Scott and Kerri, telling them to get down, and Riley kills the croc by using the grenade launcher to blow off its head, saving Scott and Kerris' lives.

To get them to safety, Riley lets them stay at Sadie's house while he, Emily and Struthers continue to hunt down and eliminate the last crocodile. Emily and Struthers have successfully retrieved all the eggs from the mother crocodiles' nest and are waiting for Riley to come to their location. Meanwhile, at Sadie's house, she is taking good care of Scott and Kerri after all they both went through. As Kerri and Sadie start having a conversation of their own, Kerri reveals that three of her friends (Thad, Rachel and Larry) were killed by some kind of, "..monsters. Big, ugly, nasty creatures. They were vicious." Knowing what she is talking about and brought down by her choice of words describing her "kids", Sadie has prepared a little job that requires Scott's help as well as Kerri's, and neither of them know what it is or what it's for. Neither one of them, but Sadie.

Meanwhile, back at the mother's crocodile nest, Riley has devised a plan to kill the last crocodile by using some of the beef from Sadie's basement and putting it into a plastic bag, along with a plastic explosive. This way, according to Riley, all it has to do is get close enough to the bag, so that he can ruin its day when he pushes a red button of a detonator that wires to the plastic explosive. Riley quickly gets everything set up and everyone is now waiting for the mother croc to finally arrive.

Back at the house, Sadie has come outside with Scott and Kerri. Scott is holding a bulb for Sadie's lightpole on her dock, while she takes Kerri all the way down to the edge to show her the white perch jumping up and down in the lake (the same white perch she showed to Cal Miner before). To make Kerri pay back for what she said, Sadie tries pushing her into the water, just as another crocodile starts to rise above the surface. Scott lets go of the bulb and grabs a chair to hit at Sadie to free Kerri. As he tells Kerri to look out, she and Sadie both turn around, and Sadie is then pulled down into the lake by the crocodile (even though it was meant to pull down Kerri) and is killed by it. The crocodile now rises up and climbs over the dock and begins to chase both Scott and Kerri. But the two manage to make it back into Sadie's house and use the door to block the crocodile's way of getting into the house. Eventually, the crocodile goes back in the water, but when Scott looks out the window, he sees two crocodiles going back into the water. Knowing that two are already dead, and now two are alive, Scott realizes that there were four crocodiles, not three.

Meanwhile, back at the mother's crocodile nest, Emily starts hearing weird noises coming from the crocodile eggs. Struthers tells her that they chirp when they want to let their mother know they're about to hatch. Moments later, Riley sees the mother crocodile and claims that she's going to go right for the eggs. So, the mother croc starts approaching Emily, who still has the eggs intact, and begins to start crawling into an empty log. Now, that the mother crocodile is trying breaking through the hollow wood to get Emily, both Riley and Struthers fail to take a shot at the mother croc. Riley gets up and hurries towards Emily, while she pulls out a machete (originally Ahmad's) and uses it to kill the mother crocodile by pushing it up, into its mouth. Riley and Emily then begin to make out, glad now that it's over, and Struthers has fallen down the tree he was originally sitting up in.

Just when everyone thought there was no more giant crocodiles left, the fourth and final crocodile approaches Struthers, now hanging upside down from the tree. As Struthers tries to shoot it with a pistol, the crocodile comes in and bites off Struthers' head, therfore, killing him. Riley, still armed with the grenade launcher, steps in and shoots the crocodiles' tail. The crocodile has now become infuriated and just as it is about to attack Sheriff Riley, Scott unexpectingly comes and pushes Riley out of the the crocodiles' way. He tells Riley that Sadie lied about her crocs and that there's four of them. Without looking, the crocodile seemingly bites the wire that's connected to the plastic explosive in the bag with the beef. Now, Riley, not knowing the wire has been bitten off by the crocodile, tries to blow up the bag by pressing the red button and sees nothing is happening. The detonator now proves useless, but Scott tosses Riley his grenade launcher, and Riley uses it to blow up the crocodile as well as the mother's nest, finally killing the last and final crocodile. The danger is now officially over.

Now, the four of them, Riley, Emily, Scott and Kerri have survived and Sheriff Riley drives them home. While he and Emily need to go to the lab to get the crocodile eggs analyzed, Scott and Kerri stay at the house, and moments later, after Riley and Emily have left, Kerri is reunited with Daisy who also has survived from the clutches of the monstrous crocodiles. Scott and Kerri are both happy that they too had survived from the crocodiles and start to kiss each other by the house.

In the final scene, we see Sheriff Riley and Emily driving to the lab with the crocodile eggs still churping in the back seat, and the credits roll.
