Charles "Chuck" Jura (born March 28, 1950) is a retired American basketball player.[1]
Career
Jura earned Nebraska All-State honors for two years and All-American accolades his senior year as a prepster at Schuyler High. His prep coach was Jay Muma. In 1970–71 he ranked seventh nationally in field-goal percentage (.592), while averaging 17.5 points per game. He scored 455 points and hauled down 243 rebounds. In 1971–72 Jura had 305 rebounds, nearly twice as many as any other Nebraska player. His average of 11.7 rebounds per game remains a Nebraska single-season record. He also scored 551 points over 26 games, averaging 21.2 points per game. This scoring average is fifth on the single-season chart. Following this season Jura was selected in the third round of the NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, but instead of playing nationally he spent his remaining career in Italy.[2]
