A Multibagger Stock is an equity stock which gives a return of more than 100%[1]. Although multibagger stocks exist everywhere but this term is more commonly used in emerging markets like India, China, Chile and Hungary[2]. A ten bagger is a stock which gives returns equal to 10 times the investment.[3][4][5]

In the past 10 years, a number of multibagger stocks have emerged and have given returns of over 100% to investors.

Examples of multibagger stocks on the NASDAQ from the past 2 years are:

  • Energy Focus Inc: A return of more than 1700% in the last 2 years. (as on 16 October 2015)[6]
  • EBIX Inc: A return of more than 200% in the last 2 years. (as on 16 October 2015)[7]
  • Expedia Inc: A return of more than 200% in the last 2 years. (as on 16 October 2015)[8]
  • Netflix Inc: A return of more than 200% in the last 2 years. (as on 16 October 2015)[9]

Some of the notable multibagger stocks in India in the past 1 year are:
