A lesson in self-correction

SounderBruce: the exchange between us has haunted me since our first encounter. I have been surprised to find that each time it creeps uninvited into my mind, it leaves me disturbed. After much deliberation, I have come to the realization that you were right. I could approach my edit summaries in a different tone. When I am wrong, I say so. I truly do try to fully explain my changes and I try to instruct editors so they might know some of the rules of writing as they move along. I want to thank you for drawing my attention to this. I will endeavor to improve. Best wishes to you and I hope to have another chance to work with you again. MarydaleEd (talk) 02:55, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MarydaleEd: Thank you for your message. I realize that I was also a bit harsh and should try not to let things boil over so quickly. I guess we're all a little on edge these days for various reasons. SounderBruce 03:02, 19 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
We all have room for improvement. I do not mind honest criticism that is constructive. I found yours to be constructive, so I have no problem with your approach. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with you again. Let's consider this matter closed. All the best to you. MarydaleEd (talk) 20:03, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from a fairly inexperienced wikipedian

Hello Bruce, I am a (fairly) new user here and I just want to know if my edits on Goodspaceguy meet this website’s standards.

thanks, and go Cougs! MrMcOrange (talk) 04:42, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@MrMcOrange: The addition looks fine, but I think a secondary source (such as a reputable news website) would be better than just the voter records. While it's unlikely to be a case of mistaken identity, it's best to have another source that makes it clear that this Goodspaceguy is running and not some other Goodspaceguy. SounderBruce 04:54, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok thanks Bruce, but I highly doubt the other Goodspaceguys are running under the same party, but you never know, this state is a little odd at times. MrMcOrange (talk) 04:58, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Would [1] count as a good source? MrMcOrange (talk) 05:09, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@MrMcOrange: No. Ballotpedia is a borderline reliable source, but we can be more picky. Consider sources like The Seattle Times, Crosscut.com, or KUOW-FM. SounderBruce 05:13, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, it just seems that no real news has come up on him, due to his everlasting presence in Washington’s politics the novelty of his campaigns have worn off. MrMcOrange (talk) 05:15, 20 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations, SounderBruce! The list you nominated, List of Seattle Reign FC seasons, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best lists on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured list. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Hey man im josh (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:27, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Northeast 85th Street station images

Hi, noticed you are involved at Northeast 85th Street station which of course is a Good Thing. If you see any images on Commons for a better infobox presentation, I've contributed some recently. I'm not sure which one to pick, if any -- it's all kind of a jumble of equipment and dirt at the moment. ☆ Bri (talk) 20:35, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look later and might try to upload some of my own soon. The site is a bit of a pain to photograph without a drone! SounderBruce 01:29, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Was thinking the same thing. Sadly, I'm Earth-bound. BTW if you didn't know, an aerial shot of that area is the illustration of the definitive cloverleaf on p. 339 of Infrastructure: A Field Guide to the Industrial Landscape (Norton, 2005, OCLC 58043328). The caption doesn't say Kirkland but it definitely is, Costco and all. ☆ Bri (talk) 04:20, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
