English: General John Forbes (1710-1759). Scottish-born general during the French and Indian war who selected George Washington as an aide and served withHenry Bouquet. He was responsible for capturing Fort Duquesne, renaming it Fort Pitt. Copied from the painting in the possesion of The Royal Scots Greys Regiment, Aldershot, England.
