Yarmolyntsi was occupied by [[The Nazi Party|the Nazis]] on 8 July 1941. The next day, 16 Jewish men were shot to death on the outskirts of the town. Jews were required to wear Stars of David and a ghetto was established. In late October 1942, Jews from Yarmolyntsi and surrounding towns were were taken to the former military barracks. Until 18 July 2020, Yarmolyntsi was the administrative center of [[Yarmolyntsi Raion]]. The raion was abolished in July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Khmelnytskyi Oblast to three. Yarmolyntsi (Ukrainian: Ярмолинці; Jarmolynzi, Jarmolińce) is an urban-type settlement in Khmelnytskyi Raion, Khmelnytskyi Oblast in western Ukraine.[1] It hosts the administration of Yarmolyntsi settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.[3] The settlement's population was 8,806 as of the 2001 Ukrainian Census[1] and 7,263 (2021 est.)[4]
