All it does is print the first parameter. Why is this template needed? -- Prince Kassad 14:11, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
- Seems to be to combat the auto-script effects of
{{Xyzy}}
(which itself should probably be deleted). I understand the logic - problem is, the default script settings are the same as for{{Latn}}
anyway, which is why [[house#English|house]] and {{l|en|house}} are exactly equivalent. So in the cases where it is used, it should just use sc=Latn (unless someone can find a counter-argument). Mglovesfun (talk) 01:03, 20 December 2010 (UTC)- I agree,
{{Xyzy}}
is one of those experiments by Ullmann which have more negative effects than positive ones. -- Prince Kassad 22:34, 20 December 2010 (UTC)- Keep as it has been modified since this discussion started. Mglovesfun (talk) 21:33, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
- I agree,
Kept: Consensus indicates that we should have Template:None as long as we have Template:Xyzy. (In addition, let me remind that Template:list:days of the week/ar uses {{None}}
to avoid using {{Arab}}
twice for the same text, which would make the text much bigger than it should, which is an additional reason to keep the template in question.) --Daniel. 14:07, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
