The techie's video on exorbitant luxury home prices in Noida has gone viral
An engineer from Delhi NCR has recently gained widespread attention after his social media post showcasing under-construction apartments in Noida being sold for ₹15 crore. Kashish Chhibber, known as “Witty Engineer” on Instagram, resonated with millions of viewers when he remarked that no amount of job switching, trading, or investing would likely enable him to purchase his own home, given the startling real estate prices.

Chhibber took his followers on a tour of Noida Sector 124, where he inspected an apartment at the upcoming ATS Knightsbridge project. He revealed that a 4BHK apartment there costs Rs 15 crore, while a 6BHK goes for Rs 25 crore. This led him to ponder who could afford such apartments and what kind of work they do. He expressed doubt whether he would ever be able to afford a 4BHK in this society, no matter how many jobs he switched or how much he traded or invested.

Video on Noida apartment prices go viral

Since its release on Instagram, Chhibber's video has gone viral, amassing 4.3 million views. Many viewers were astonished by the high prices of the ATS Knightsbridge apartments, which are significantly above the average cost of apartments in Noida. The video also made waves on X, where it garnered over a million views, sparking discussions about the unaffordability of Noida’s real estate for middle-class Indians, drawing comparisons to the escalating prices in Delhi.

The ATS Knightsbridge, located in Sector 124 Noida, is described as featuring ultra-luxurious 4-bed residences in two configurations: a 3BHK spanning 6000 sq. ft. and a 6BHK covering 10000 sq. ft. The development offers high-end amenities such as a dedicated concierge service, which accounts for its premium pricing, according to the company's website.

What Netizens Say on Noida Apartment Prices

The video and subsequent discussions drew various reactions from netizens. Well-known YouTuber Akshat Shrivastava questioned why people would buy Rs 15 crore flats in Noida, suggesting that the same amount could buy a villa in Dubai, a 3BHK apartment in Singapore, or an apartment in a prime Manhattan location. Others echoed his sentiment, expressing a preference for moving abroad where they could lead a more comfortable and clean life.

Some defended the high prices, noting that the ATS Knightsbridge is not a standard project but a luxury one, justifying the cost due to the extensive space and exclusive amenities it offers, akin to purchasing a high-end luxury car. Others criticized the high cost of living in India, attributing it to overpopulation and suggesting that there are better places in the world with less pollution and congestion.

On its website, the ATS Knightsbridge project is highlighted as a prestigious development at the junction of Delhi and Noida, designed for those seeking a luxurious lifestyle in a private, exclusive setting. The project consists of five magnificent skyscrapers, each with 47 stories, featuring contemporary designs amidst green landscapes.
