If you’d like to know more about what we do, or if you want to visit or just talk to someone, please call or email us. You‘re not alone. We’re here for your child, and for you and your whole family. And we’ll guide you through every step to get the care and help you need.

You can also refer your child and family to us by completing the form below. Your GP, social worker or other health or social care professional can also refer your child or family to us, with your permission.

Often referrals are made by consultants, GPs, care professionals, social workers and so on, but you can refer yourself or your child to us directly too. If you live in West Yorkshire and your baby or child has a life-shortening condition (and is under 19 years of age) or your baby or child has died within the last two years, you can be referred to us. You might be referred by your GP or a nurse, social worker or hospital consultant. Or you can refer yourself by completing the form opposite.
No. The support we provide is completely free for families who are eligible for our care.
We’ll work with you to understand what kind of support you, your child and family need. We’ll find out what challenges you face, what your priorities are and what you want – and from that, we’ll tailor our support accordingly. And we’ll look at how best to support your whole family – you, siblings and grandparents as well as your child.
We know that some families are horrified if a children’s hospice is suggested as a place they should come to. But, despite what most people think, a children’s hospice isn’t just a place for end of life care.
We’re here to provide a huge range of support to any family whose child has a life-shortening condition or whose child has sadly died.
Whether you’ve just received a diagnosis, have been struggling for years or are recently bereaved, please get in touch. We can help to take a little bit of the weight off your shoulders, be a listening ear, a helping hand and a shoulder to cry on.
We can make sure all the members of your family get the care they need and introduce you to other families who understand exactly what you’re going through.
Not only that, but our children’s hospice, Russell House, is a real home-from-home, somewhere you can relax, a place where you can feel less alone.
To begin with, you can rely on the Care Quality Commission’s inspection report, which rated us ‘outstanding’ – that means we’re judged as providing exceptional care to children and families.
And we will work with you to make sure you get the support that’s right for your child’s and your family’s needs. You can ask us questions at any time and we welcome any feedback on our care to help us continue to improve our services.
