The Little Witch (Die Kleine Hexe) will star German actress Karoline Herfurth and reunite the production team behind local box office hit Heidi.
Studiocanal is to co-produce and handle world sales on the first German live-action film adaptation of Otfried Preussler’s children’s classic The Little Witch (Die Kleine Hexe).
Published in 1957, Preussler’s tale centres on a witch who is a mere one hundred and twenty-seven years old and thus deemed too young to be allowed to dance with the others on the Hill of Witches during Walpurgis Night (30 April).
Before she can prove to the chief witch that she has what it takes to become a good witch, she must hone her magic skills, but she hadn’t reckoned with the mean weather witch Rumpumpel using every means to prevent her reaching her goal.

Kate or Die “Little Ghost” (2014-present; updates whenever)
Written and drawn by Kate Leth
In November 2014, Kate Leth decided to switch over the format of her Kate or Die! from autobiographical to a young adult story starring various ghosts, monsters, and beasties. The story was later titled “Little Ghost” and currently has eleven chapters. The last update ends on a cliffhanger, and Leth posted on her website that it will be continued in 2015 with updates coming between her various projects, like Bravest Warriors and Edward Scissorhands. For now, “Little Ghost” is an adorable teen monster mystery with a diverse cast of characters and lush coloring that you’ll wish had more installments.
The basic premise of “Little Ghost” is that a bunch of Universal horror-type monsters (who happen to be cute teenagers) are going to a big house party thrown by Lucy, a happy girl with a veiny, heart shaped head.

You’ve got kids at home, or maybe you’re a kid at heart or maybe you just like monster movies and horror movies and classic science fiction and you love animation of all types. This autumn must have been either a blessing or a curse for you. There are three films that more than likely would have tickled your fancy; ParaNorman, Hotel Transylvania and Frankenweenie. This is quite the cavalcade of animated spook pictures to have released theatrically. You might expect one a year and your wallet probably can only handle one. Maybe you could even do two if two kiddie monster flicks presented themselves, but three movies… three heavily advertised, marketable, seemingly funny movies with big name stars attached either the director seat or in the voice over position in one year. You must be wondering which witch is which… that is to say you wanna know what’s worth watching and why.

ParaNorman
Directed by: Chris Butler & Sam Fell
Cast: Kodi Smit-McPhee, Tucker Albrizzi, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Casey Affleck, Jodelle Ferland
Running Time: 1 hr 29 mins
Rating: PG
Release Date: August 17, 2012
Plot: A middle schooler (Smit-McPhee) who can see ghosts must save his town from a destructive curse that involves zombies, ghouls, witches, and bullies.
Who’S It For? ParaNorman has fantastic humor that will greatly entertain both kids and adults, while packing a meaningful punch that will strike true to anyone. Despite how this film may appear, it’s not too childish for adults, and it’s not too scary for children. If you’re a fan of great animation, see this movie. If you were underwhelmed by Brave and are looking for an animation movie to knock you out, see this movie. If you like great movies, see this movie.
Expectations: I had only the poster and the film’s...
