Kenji Endo (Toshiaki Karasawa), is a regular guy who works at a convenience store and looks after his niece, Kanna. Kenji gets caught up in strange events when he discovers a cult led by a man called "Friend." This cult is using games and stories from Kenji's childhood to plan the end of the world. As these childhood games start coming true, Kenji and his old friends must come together to stop the cult and save the world.

20th Century Boys: The Last Hope (2009)

Many years later. "Friend" has taken over the world and is now very powerful. Kenji is missing, and his niece Kanna (Airi Taira), now a teenager, leads the fight against "Friend." Kanna tries to find out who "Friend" really is and how he is connected to her uncle's childhood games. As she searches for answers, more secrets are revealed, and new allies join the fight for freedom.

20th Century Boys: Redemption (2009)

The third and final movie shows the last battle against "Friend." Kenji returns to help the resistance and confronts his old childhood friend, who is now the leader of the cult.
