Uncited info

[edit]
They chose a good friend of Alizée (a known Member of the Forum at http://www.alizee-fanpage.com, nicknamed "le grand d'or") to be the godfather of their child Anny. Perhaps, one reason for selecting him was that he shares the same birthday as Anny. He is also one of her new songwriters; proven by the french news magazine "Platine", in the July/August issue.

Wikipedia needs information to be verifiable and it must come from a notable and neutral source. However, this information fits none of the criteria. So it will be removed. Please do not add without a citation. --soumসৌমোyasch 07:12, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some people have been removing the video links from this article, claiming that they are "copyright infringement". It seems to me that linking to websites is not a copyright infringement, and I'm sure that Google has plenty of lawyers who go over their content. So, I think we should continue to use the links to Google Video. If the copyright owner has a problem with these videos being on Google Video then the appropriate action to take is to contact Google, not to vandalise Wikipedia. 217.117.172.147 02:03, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Comments Page

[edit]

The comments page was created by Jacoplane and me to have a detailed and structured self-review of how the article and its sections stack up vis-a-vis the guidelines for a Wikipedia featured article and plan further edits accordingly, and not for a general discussion. As such the content is not suitable for the talk page. It was not even an article-space page, but an user-space one. If you are not comfortable with this being in the comments page (I don't see any reason why it has to be short comments only), move it to some other page, such as Talk:Alizée/Review or something, but not here. Or better I will take it back to user-space, if the dispute isn't resolved. --soumসৌমোyasch 06:45, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The biography project template comments is reserved for biography members to put in short comments on why they graded an article Start, B, A, etc., it is not for long reviews. I suggest moving it back to the user space where it was prior to you putting it on the Comments page. Putting in such a long comment does this to the Biography's log as compared to what a normal log would look like. I applaud your detailed analysis (I wish more people did this) but unfortunately where you are trying to place it is not the appropriate spot. Thanks for you patience and understanding plange 07:01, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For your information, it was not me who made the page move. You should have checked the logs before making a claim like that. --soumসৌমোyasch 07:29, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't matter to me who moved it, it needs to be moved back, thanks! plange 07:32, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Even if who moved it doesn't matter, false accusations do offend people. Sorry if I sound harsh. And I have moved the page. --soumসৌমোyasch 07:38, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, please WP:AGF. I wasn't making an accusation just an observation on why it wasn't good where it was, sorry if it sounded like an attack, it wasn't meant to be. Thanks for moving it and thanks for being responsive! Good luck with the article :-) plange 07:43, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And thanks for moving the redirect. You beat me to the punch :p --soumসৌমোyasch 07:40, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
no prob! plange 07:43, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

[edit]

The first picture is so photoshopped it's ridiculous. Is there a better picture to use? One that hasn't used the smudge tool to death? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 199.172.169.33 (talkcontribs).

Recording companies like to present their artists in particular ways with promotional photos. I think it probably makes sense to use a picture of her (digitally manipulated or not) that reflects how she's displayed to the public. And while I agree that the photo in question probably saw some time in the post-processing department, a professional photographer equipped with an SLR and the right makeup and lighting scheme wouldn't find it difficult to create a shot like that. --209.180.252.22 19:50, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the current photograph of Alizée should be replaced with a photograph that actually shows her in a natural posé rather than the current one that is taken from a scene were she is dancing and obviously has a weird look on her face. Does anyone concur? SwedishPsycho 06:28, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would second that. But its hard to find free pictures of her these days. --soumসৌমোyasch 12:13, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Using a promotional image is not longer possible under the new fair use guidelines. Using a screenshot from a video clip is somewhat acceptable, which is what I've done in this case. If you have an image that you feel is more suitable we can certainly change it. Ideally we'd have a totally free image of course, but nobody seems to have one, I've asked in many places. Discography

[edit]

Those are some weird abbreviations for country names -- SZ for Switzerland, SW for Sweden, SQ for Slovakia, SK for South Korea. I'm changing them to something more standard. Also, since Slovakia is listed separately, and the years covered are 2000-2003, I assume that CZ must refer to the Czech Republic rather than Czechoslovakia. --DPoon 05:46, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quote

[edit]
The site [under the link "Ecole"] quoted in French: "we are proud of having had Alizee as proof of the School's success. After 10 years of training under Monique [Mufraggi], she is now an international star".

I removed this sentence, coz I felt this added no informative value to what is already present. If anyone disagrees, please put forth your thoughts. --soumসৌমোyasch 14:51, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removing a para

[edit]

In the July/August issue of the French magazine Platine, it was reported that she has parted with both Mylène Farmer as well as her record label, "Polydor". It went on to report that Jean Faulques will be writing at least a few songs, while the music is being composed by Jérémy Châtelain. The first single from this album will supposedly be aired by September, with the full album release by the end of the year.

Well its well into September, and still any official info is nowhere near. I think it is time for this to be taken out. --soumসৌমোyasch 03:56, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am doing it. Please feel free to have a discussion if u dont agree. --soumসৌমোyasch 03:57, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Release Info

[edit]

"Alizée's new album will debut late December / early January and her first single, which is based around a Romeo and Juliet theme, should be released in December."

I think we should refrain from stating this. There is just one publication ([1]) reporting this, but they do not cite anyone providing the info. How does that differenetiate them from regular pop magazines publishing rumors after rumor. Most importantly, there has been no verified official announcement. I am reverting its addition for the moment. Correct me if I am wrong! --soumসৌমোyasch 05:37, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
