Despite his name in Curious George (2006) is revealed to be Ted Shackleford, here the Man in the Yellow Hat is never referred to by name, only by his nickname.
The episodes Curious George Takes a Job/Curious George Takes Another Job (2006), Housebound!/Curious George Rides a Bike (2007), and Curious George Flies a Kite/From Scratch (2006) are all based off the original Curious George books by Margaret and H. A. Rey.
The animation for George's dreams closely resembles those of the book, rather than the cartoon series.
Rather than a continuation of the plot of Curious George (2006), many of the character designs and storylines are taken from the original H.A and Margaret Rey stories. For example, although never named, dogs resembling both Hundley and Charkie appear in 'Curious George Takes a Job,' as well as a cook who owns a cat resembling Chef Pisghetti and Gnocchi.
George's friends Steve and Betsy live with their Aunt Margaret, but their parents are never seen. One episode reveals they moved there while still young, so it is probable that they are orphans.
