Ryan Murphy, through Ryan Murphy Productions, announced the new horror series, Grotesquerie, in an Instagram post in February.
While his team relatively kept the details private after releasing the cryptic teaser, FX Networks dropped the poster and logline to share what fans can expect from the show.
"In Ryan Murphy’s 10-episode drama series Grotesquerie for FX, a series of heinous crimes have unsettled a small community. Detective Lois Tryon feels these crimes are eerily personal, as if someone — or something — is taunting her. At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter, a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons. High Potential is making its debut on ABC. The new procedural, which flits between comedy and drama, stars Kaitlin Olson as a genius who gets hired as a police consultant after she makes a break in a case that changes the tide of the investigation. Her decision to highlight what they'd missed takes her from cleaning the precinct to helping to solve crimes with Det. Karadec who is definitely not as free spirited as Morgan nor would he bring children to a crime scene but, hey, Morgan is a single mother with three kids, where she goes they go if that's what has to happen.
The show's cast is filled with more than one familiar face. If the name of one of the main and recurring actors is on the tip of your tongue or you're trying to remember what you've seen them in, we've got you covered. Below you'll...

Exclusive: Following Lionsgate’s acquisition of eOne, Lionsgate Television has moved in to retain the top TV creator on eOne’s roster, Alexi Hawley, signing a premium overall deal with the creator/executive producer of two of eOne’s three ongoing premium scripted series, The Rookie on ABC, starring Nathan Fillion, and The Recruit on Netflix, headlined by Noah Centineo, as well as a hot new drama Lionsgate has out in the marketplace, The Envoy.
Hawley had emerged as the most prolific creator at eOne where he had two back-to-back overall deals, the most recent of which, signed in 2022, carried over to Lionsgate after the merger. In addition to The Rookie, which is headed to its seventh season, and The Recruit, going into Season 2, he also was behind spinoff The Rookie: Feds, which aired on ABC for one season, a run that was cut short at least in part by the strikes.

The Rookie is still going strong five seasons in. The same can't be said for The Rookie: Feds. The spinoff had a lot of momentum coming out of the gate, but the Hollywood strikes complicated the renewal process. In the end, ABC wound up pulling the plug after only one season.
It was a disappointing development for both Rookie: Feds fans and the cast of the flagship series. Nathan Fillion, the star of The Rookie, was particularly bummed to see plans to expand the franchise fall by the wayside. That being said, there is some good news.

Uh-oh, it sounds like The Rookie‘s #Chenford might not be the only relationship to worry about when Season 7 of the light ABC procedural rolls around… sometime in the year 2025.

Promising news from Nathan Fillion about whether we will ever see cast members again from The Rookie: Feds.
While participating in a panel discussion Saturday for The Rookie at Comic-Con, Fillion was told by a fan that she misses the short-lived spinoff that starred Niecy Nash-Betts, Frankie R. Faison, James Lesure, Britt Robertson and Kevin Zegers. Will she ever see them again?
“The short answer is yes,” Fillion said, to applause. Feds, which was a casualty of the dual strikes, was canceled in November. “We are trying to create a universe in which we can all exist.”
In fact, Fillion said building and fostering that universe is so important that he pointed out how The Rookie is no longer just about him. “The title and the idea that it was my show was always just a trick,” said Fillion. “It’s always been an ensemble cast. I’m so very...

TV fans are no strangers to the whims of network decisions. We've suffered numerous heartbreaks when a network chooses to axe a show, often without warning.
The WGA/AMPTP writer strikes of 2023 significantly affected the future of the series across all prime networks like CBS, Fox, NBC, and ABC. Plenty of shows have ended in the year since.
Many shows, like Home Economics and The Rookie: Feds, surprised loyal viewers. One recently canceled series that has experienced major upheaval is the Grey's Anatomy firefighting spinoff Station 19.
Station 19 is currently on its seventh -- and final -- season, much to viewers' dismay.
Since the announcement in late 2023, fans everywhere have risen in protest. We've seen billboards, ads, social media posts, and more, all with the hashtag #SaveStation19.
Is Now the Right Time to Cancel Station 19?
Station 19 is the brainchild of Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey's Anatomy.

The 2024 event, which was pushed back in the wake of the Hollywood strikes, will take place on Saturday, April 14 at the Hollywood Palladium.
“A good writer is an actors’ greatest gift,” Nash-Betts said in a statement. Added L.A. awards exec producer Hugh Fink (“Saturday Night Live”): “Niecy Nash-Betts is the dream host for this year’s WGA Awards. Her brilliant performance in ‘Dahmer’ – as the courageous woman who helped take down a serial killer who ate his victims – is surprisingly a lot like negotiating with the AMPTP.”
Benn Fleishman of Avalon Harbor Entertainment is also a producer for this year’s WGA Awards in Los Angeles. Additional presenters scheduled to appear at this year’s L.

ABC kicked off the post-strike return of its scripted series last week with the network’s three comedies, one of which, flagship Abbott Elementary, received an early Season 4 renewal just a couple of days later. Following his TCA session on Saturday and ahead of the rollout of ABC’s drama lineup next week, Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich spoke with Deadline about the effects from the dual Hollywood strikes which are the reason the new seasons of the broadcast scripted series are premiering in midseason and the launch of most new scripted shows, including ABC’s High Potential, was pushed to 2024-25.
ABC has not ordered pilots this pilot season. Erwich, who oversees ABC Entertainment, Hulu Originals, Disney Branded Television and Freeform, addressed whether the network would do pilot or straight-to-series pickups this year for other shows to join Drew Goddard’s High Potential next season. As you've undoubtedly heard by now, the Kansas City Chiefs won their second consecutive Super Bowl on Sunday night.
And, of course, Taylor Swift was on hand to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Super Bowl ratings have been on the rise in recent years, and the combination of a hard-fought overtime game and the world's most famous entertainer no doubt delivered a massive audience for CBS.
For Swift and Kelce, it was the culmination of a fairy tale romance, and for the good people of Kansas City, it was the perfect ending to a storybook season.
But if you're a fan of neither football nor somewhat bland pop melodies, you might be growing a little tired of the Traylor saga.

‘The Rookie: Feds’ Creator Alexi Hawley On Drama’s Demise: It Wasn’t Just Due To The Strike, He Says
Creator Alexi Hawley expressed regret on Saturday about the cancellation of The Rookie: Feds, an ABC procedural that he said was a victim of economics and “consolidation in the industry.”
While appearing on the dais for The Rookie at the Television Critics Tour, Hawley, who created Feds with Terence Paul Winter, said some people tried to blame the show’s demise on the strike but “it’s a bigger conversation than that.” The ratings for The Rookie: Feds were modest but were trending in a positive direction before the series starring Niecy Nash-Betts was canceled after one season in November.
“A lot had to do with the forces that led to strike … the consolidation of the industry, the economic impact of the streaming wars have had on different companies,” Hawley said. “I do feel it was not a creative decision. It was a business decision. I can’t argue with that.

The more things change, the more things stay the same.
That may as well be the motto for the five broadcast networks heading into the 2023-24 season as their corporate parents are increasingly focused on cutting costs, restructurings and streaming. To that end, three of the five networks have made leadership changes in the past year.
The biggest change comes at The CW, which is now majority controlled by Nexstar with former Pop topper Brad Schwartz now tasked with making the younger-skewing network profitable for the first time following the unexpected departure of TV’s longest-tenured president, Mark Pedowitz. Over at CBS, Kelly Kahl and his top lieutenant Thom Sherman and their sizable paydays were bounced in favor of former head of current Amy Reisenbach. ABC is the latest network to reveal when fans can expect their favorite series to return to the air following the end of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.
The schedule has plenty of big surprises, including 9-1-1 landing on a new night after moving to the Alphabet network from Fox.
9-1-1 Season 7 has scored the Thursday lead-off spot, where it will lead into Grey's Anatomy Season 20.
Previous 8 p.m. occupant, Station 19 is airing out of Grey's Anatomy in the 10 p.m. slot.
That's very late for the spinoff, but we'll reserve judgment on that until we lay eyes on the numbers.
Moving 9-1-1 away from Mondays is a choice because the show has continuously delivered strong ratings throughout its run.
There's also the chance many viewers will be confused by the move and won't follow it to ABC, so there are many variables here.

It’s case closed for The Rookie: Feds. The ABC series isn’t getting a season 2. The Rookie spinoff starred Niecy Nash-Betts as Simone Clark, the oldest rookie FBI agent.
‘The Rookie’ spinoff canceled after one season at ABC
The Rookie: Feds premiered in 2022 and wrapped up its first season in May 2023. While The Rookie earned a season 6 renewal in April, ABC held off on making a decision about the future of Feds, leaving the show in limbo throughout the months-long WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
Now, with the writers’ strike over and the actors’ union having reached a tentative deal with the studios, the network has decided not to move forward with The Rookie: Feds Season 2, Deadline reports.
