Number of IDs in sourceNot sure. About 650,000 people were in the Canadian military during World War I. Relatively few of them are notable by Wikipedia standards. See https://www.veterans.gc.ca/en/remembrance/wars-and-conflicts/first-world-war

Motivation

[edit]

I wanted to expand a biography of someone who served in the Canadian army during World War I. I was working on expanding https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Horace_Thomas_Tams and Willie Horace Thomas Tams (Q21338560). I noticed a claim in the Dutch article nl:Willie_Horace_Thomas_Tams that the subject had served in the Canadian military during World War I, so I googled the person's name and found a listing in the Canadian Great War Project database at https://canadiangreatwarproject.com/person.php?pid=879804 I don't work for the operator of the database and I don't understand what types of data it contains, but I thought that it might be useful for Wikidata to link to it. The person ID is not the same as the regimental number. Eastmain (talk) 21:23, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]
I have clarified that the property will mean "pid" only. Other IDs should have their own properties:
