Shammi Kapoor

Indian actor (1930-2011)

Shammi Kapoor (born Shamsher Raj Kapoor; 21 October 1930[1] – 14 August 2011) was an Indian movie actor and director. He was a famous lead actor in Hindi cinema from the late 1950s until the early 1970s. He was known as "India's Elvis Presley".

He received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1968 for his role in Brahmachari and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Vidhaata in 1982.

Kapoor died from chronic kidney failure in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, aged 79.[2]
