Michael Ausiello /ˌɔːsiˈɛloʊ/ (born February 23, 1972) is an American television industry journalist and actor. He was a senior writer at TV Guide and its companion website, TVGuide.com.[2] On May 28, 2008, Ausiello left TV Guide for Entertainment Weekly[3] and posted his first blog for them on July 2, 2008.[4] On October 4, 2010, he announced his departure from Entertainment Weekly to join Jay Penske's Penske Media Corporation, where he launched a new TV site, TVLine.com.[5]

Ausiello grew up in Roselle Park, New Jersey.[6] He is a graduate of the University of Southern California, and spent three years as the senior news editor of Soaps In Depth magazine and served as media relations coordinator at Entertainment Tonight prior to joining TV Guide.

Ausiello is a pesca-vegetarian, currently residing in New York City and Los Angeles.[9]
Ausiello is openly gay and was married to photographer Kit Cowan.[10][11] Cowan died of a rare form of neuroendocrine cancer on February 5, 2015.[12] Ausiello chronicled the last year of Kit's life, and their 13-year relationship, in his 2017 memoir Spoiler Alert: The Hero Dies. [13]
