Bloqueo

:Merci !David.Monniaux 11:06, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I did not take it myself. but it is an old picture which is more than 40 years old. and in countries such as Iraq there has been no regules for old images where one can find such images everywere.

help me, please

[edit]

hi, I'm a new user of commons (I come from it:wikipedia) and I want do something in commons. For change the old template of the public domain must be made by the user that upload the image, or can do I? I'm sorry for my horrible english. I hope that you can know this sentence. Thank you --RED DEVIL 666 16:31, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the template of public domain is old. I want know if the new template (for example PD-old) can is put by me, or can is put only by the user that upload the image.

Don't answer in the page that is open by "PRIDE" because I made a mistake in my signature but, actually, I can't correct it because the prefereces page is wrong. --RED DEVIL 666 16:48, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Colombian legislation

[edit]

As far as I know, Colombian copyright laws are quite similar to European laws. In that case, we are in trouble. For more info (in Spanish, sorry): http://derautor.gov.co/ --Julianortega 22:01, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zach Klein

[edit]

Hi David,

I contacted Zach throught flicker, which allows to send messages to its users. The important part of this conservation is at User:Guety/zachklein. At this time Zach Klein started to licence his pictures as CC-BY and I thought he might do this as well with his former pictures (all rights reserved). His answer seemed to allow to use his pictures as CC-BY, he only wandet to know where they are used. So I created User:Guety/zachklein to show it and send him the URL.

{{CopyrightByWikimedia}}

[edit]

:EyOne|EyOne]] Di$cuter 17:15, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

Assume PD for Images older than 100 years

[edit]

Hi - I have put a clarified version of the proposal at Commons_talk:Licensing#Assume PD for Images older than 100 years. I belive much confusion arose because I chose a bad title for the discussion. Please have another look -- Duesentrieb(?!) 22:00, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Romary 11:37, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

copyvio?

[edit]

I noticed that you deleted two images listed in Template:Deletion requests#Image:Amy Proctor.JPG and Image:Amy_proctor2.JPG. As far as I can remember, those images were uploaded in a right license, but was whether picture was worth keeping in Commons. Explanation please? Thank you. -- WB 08:51, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know. I didn't know the whole story. I think we can safely assume that no permissions were given. -- WB 09:52, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Contact page

[edit]

What do you think about directing people to the commons mailing list? Getting them to fill out a form, with an automatic subject "Suspect copyright violation" shouldn't be too hard technically (and ability to fill out a form/write an email is something we can at least assume of our readers, I hope! unlike wiki-editing ability). If we can make all emails have that heading, then people on the list who don't care could filter them out. Or we could in fact just make a separate list, in case the current one ever picks up... pfctdayelise 14:44, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I take your second point, but as for your first...yeah, it would be nice to have language localisation. But if we don't have it for the commons in general (yet), I can't see that they're going to make a special effort to introduce it for "legal enquiries". Every page is in English by default, unless you log in and change your lang settings, right? Unless they change that, it doesn't matter what we say, ("legal enquiries" or "contact" or "village pump"), it won't be enough - unless we list the 100 translations along side it! Feeling comfortable emailing a foreign language list is one thing; managing to find how to do that is another!
Uh...I think I'm agreeing with you now. :) pfctdayelise 23:11, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Basis of Template:PD-JORF and Template:PD-JORF-nor-conso

Would you please explain the legal basis of Template:PD-JORF and Template:PD-JORF-nor-conso in French law? I understand very limited French only.--Jusjih 09:27, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As an administrator at English Wikisource, I have heard of Soufron after a debate about whether United Nations resolutions would be admissible there. The external links from Template:PD-JORF-nor-conso are not working very well. Merci beaucoup.--Jusjih 13:43, 16 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request

[edit]

Hi David,

My name is Fernanda Viégas and I have been studying Wikipedia for a while now (you can see a paper I published on the subject here). I would like to ask you a few questions about your activities as a Wikipedia image creator. I am fascinated by the pictorial side of Wikipedia and it would be great to hear about this community from one of its members. Would you be available to participate an email survey this week? Thanks, — Fviegas | talk

Commons-l subscription

[edit]

Hello David.Monniaux/archives/2,

as per Commons talk:Administrators, I am asking all admins to subscribe to commons-l, a mailing list for Wikimedia Commons policy and project discussion. Since many admins are only on Commons infrequently, this is a good way to alert people about important happenings. The mailing list is nominally multilingual, but predominantly English.

If you are already subscribed to commons-l, I apologize for bothering you, and you are free to ignore this message. If you don't want to use your regular e-mail account, feel free to leave me a message, and I can send you a GMail invite. Traffic on the mailing list is relatively low, and we do not expect admins to read all messages to the list, but it would be nice if you could check on it at least every few weeks. Thanks for your time,--Eloquence 22:51, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cordialement. Utilisateur:Gegeours

FlickrLickr deletions

[edit]

On August 29th you deleted FlickrLickr uploaded images Image:LongRoad2.jpg and Image:PowerLine1.jpg with explanation "copyrighted". According to Google cache, LongRoad2.jpg and PowerLine1.jpg had been tagged with CC-BY and {{Flickr-change-of-license}} explaining the situation. Please note that FlickrLickr uploads are not mistakes on the uploader's part, as the images for review are harvested automatically from Flickr's list of free images. Was there an external request to delete these images? --Para 07:59, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
