Re-Writing History

edit

During the inter-war years 1920s to the early 1940s, military arms made huge strides, especially with automatic and semi-automatic weaponry, notably by John Browning.

The Browning Machine Gun in 1917 (water cooled) was refined into the M1919 machine gun (air cooled). The Bowning Automatic Rifle, originally developed in 1910 as the Browning Machine Rifle, grew into the weapon of World War 2 fame. At the time, all infantry rifles came with bayonets, save the machine gun crews and automatic riflemen. Bayonets were used as utility tools by soldiers and were generally prized by all. A solution was found by issuing automatic rifleman a knife known as: Knife, Browning Automatic Rifle, or K-BAR. THAT'S WHERE THE NAME CAME FROM LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!

I don't know where you dug up your information but it's historically dead wrong! Thomas.merrill (talk) 20:13, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
