Orphaned references in Todd Novak

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Todd Novak's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "ReferenceA":

  • From Democratic Party (United States): "Voting Rights". Democrats.org.
  • From John Nygren: State of Wisconsin 2013–2014 Blue Book pg.910

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 01:39, 7 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • What I think should be changed (include citations): Although a Republican, Novak has positioned himself as an "independent voice" and has touted a bipartisan voting record, which is helpful in his liberal-leaning district. Remove this part
  • Why it should be changed: This is not true and my boss is not like this and does not want it on his page

Not done what your boss wants on the page about him (note that it is not "his page") is irrelevant. It is supported by a reliable source. HouseBlastertalk 03:32, 22 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
There is nothing in the article that he is quoted saying that. Its misleading and false. Please remove. 165.189.142.27 (talk) 14:44, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Election History

edit
  • Why it should be changed: This is his newest election and must be updated since 2022, and would like to have another election box added like the other years.

Could you sepereate the lines for 2020 and 2022 by chance?
On November 3, 2020, Novak was re-elected to his fourth term in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Novak defeated his challenger, Democrat Kriss Marion by a margin of 1,258 votes. This was his largest margin since first being elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly.
He further increased his margin two years later, when he was re-elected to his fifth term in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Novak defeated his challenger, Democrat Leah Spicer, by a margin of 3,214 votes. 165.189.142.27 (talk) 14:43, 24 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Why it should be changed: This will help people identify who he is and put a face to the name

Biography

edit
  • What I think should be changed (include citations): Updated biography of Rep. Novak: Todd Novak was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2014. He has served as Mayor of the City of Dodgeville since 2012. Novak has been a lifelong resident of Iowa County and grew up on the family farm outside of Cobb. His family came from Bohemia in the 1860s, and the Novak Family Farm has been in the family for 150 years.

He became active in politics while in high school and became good friends with the late State Senator Dick Kruel. He traveled with Dick in the 17th Senate District and also spent time with him in the state capitol. It was from Senator Kruel that Todd learned that as an elected official, constituents always come first, regardless of who they are or what party they belong to. Beyond his role as Mayor of Dodgeville, Todd has served as the Government and Associate Editor of the Dodgeville Chronicle and was also appointed to the Southwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. https://legis.wisconsin.gov/assembly/51/novak/meet-todd/biography/

  • Why it should be changed: This is the current and newest version of the bio and can we add a title named biography to this at the top.
