MNRR timetables

edit

I think it may be better to link to the MNRR schedules page rather than the individual timetables. Links such as https://new.mta.info/document/136536 seem to point to specific versions of the timetables, and will thus be out of date as soon as the next timetables come out. Best, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:43, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I checked a couple links on the wayback machine, and it seems they keep the same URLs and just add new PDFs when the new timetables come out. (Danbury Branch example: [1]https://web.archive.org/web/20240501000000*/https://new.mta.info/document/124236)
Perhaps we can link both? Let me know your thoughts. AirportExpert (talk) 21:49, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@AirportExpert: Thanks for your stewardship of the MNR and LIRR pages and their links! I cam here to raise the same point as Pi.1415926535. When I look at, e.g., Sept. 2023 versus May 2024, the Hudson line document changes from 118931 to 136536. I wouldn't count on it being stable. I think it's fine to link directly to the PDFs if you can commit to monitoring the page when the fall timetables come out and checking to see if they change. If that seems like too much, I'd suggest we're better off with the schedules page instead, but I don't feel super-strongly. jhawkinson (talk) 22:05, 5 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

You're right, there is no telling how stable the links are going to be. I guess the links for some branches/lines remain the same, while the MTA changes others at random. I can't guarantee that I will be able to continuously monitor each link, so I'm perfectly okay with just linking the main schedules page at the bottom if that's the consensus. @FFM784: Pinging you to this conversation since I see you've removed some of these links. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 18:17, 6 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
