Welcome to Gobonobo's talk page. DYK for List of individual body parts
editOn 12 July 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article List of individual body parts, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a human toe used for cocktails (pictured) is one of many body parts that are tourist attractions? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of individual body parts. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, List of individual body parts), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

File:Mabel Lucie Attwell.jpg
editPlease ask about File:Mabel Lucie Attwell.jpg at either WP:MCQ or c:COM:VPC because there's a good chance it might've already entered into the public domain if it was published in 1924. If that's the case, the file would not need to be licensed as non-free content and could be hosted on Commons instead. -- Marchjuly (talk) 12:34, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: Thank you. I usually err on the side of caution when PD status is uncertain, but this is good advice. gobonobo + c 13:56, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
File:Adrienne Gessner.jpg
editIt looks like you made a copy-and-paste error in File:Adrienne Gessner.jpg's non-free use rationale and added the wrong article name for the |article=
parameter. This caused the file to be removed by a bot that looks for such thing. I fixed the error and re-added the file to the article. Anyway, given the year Gessener was born, there's a good chance that their are other images of her somewhere out there which might be in the public domain. For example, the image you uploaded seems to be a crop of this and the name of the photographer and the name of the production the photo is from are given. You could use that information to ask about the photo at c:COM:VPC to see whether it might now be within the public domain. The photographer might be Wilhelm Willinger who died in 1943 and the production might be something called "Larifari". -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:16, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing that. It looks like there was a production of Larifari at Vienna's Theater in der Josefstadt in 1927. The copyright may have expired, but even if the photo was taken then, I'm unsure whether the photograph was actually published prior to 1932, as required by c:Template:PD-Austria. gobonobo + c 14:42, 15 July 2024 (UTC)

Regarding closure of Lubok in my sandbox
editHi @Gobonobo! Regarding your recent edits to my sandbox: I was unaware that I even submitted this as a draft; this was solely supposed to be a workspace where I could improve the article privately. I am also aware that Lubok already exists as an article. I apologize for the confusion there. joeyquism (talk) 22:31, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Joeyquism: I wondered if that wasn't the case. No worries. gobonobo + c 22:33, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

DYK for Diesel (donkey)
editOn 28 July 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Diesel (donkey), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Replaceable non-free use File:Chick Webb.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Chick Webb.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 6 August 2024 (UTC)
