Margaret Court

edit

Just a random note, I noticed on Margaret Court's page that she's listed as 5'9" on the Infobox. Was she not, in fact, 6' tall?Inliten 02:27, 9 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Templates - help needed

edit

Hi guys, I have been working hard on individual year templates for the ATP Tour (e.g. Template:1990 ATP Tour, Grand Prix tennis circuit (e.g. Template:1985 Nabisco Grand Prix and WCT circuit (e.g. Template:1973 World Championship Tennis circuit as well as some WTA templates. The majority of the links on them should be accurate but I was wondering if someone with tennis knowledge check through the completed templates. Some pre-ATP era tournaments are simply recorded as "[Place name] Open" and I have also been unable to find some of the tournament sponsor names, such as the name of the San Francisco tournament known as the SAP Open. They all need to be recorded with the sponsor name if applicable. Thanks. Can people either respond here or on my talkpage. 03md 11:09, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Template Requests

edit

I will add the fact that all request should have a Asterisk before them to keep them organized if someone says otherwise within 2 days Irunongamesplay 00:28, 31 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Next & Previous Year to be added to Grand slam template

edit

It will be really helpful to add previous year & next year to GS template. This will provide ease for navigation. These options can be provided similar to the Template:Infobox football league season -- User_talk:Fahidka —Preceding undated comment added 17:13, 21 January 2010 (UTC).Reply

Template:Infobox tennis at multi sports events

edit

The Template:Infobox tennis at multi sports events seems to be a bit flawed. Since this template is being used on pages such as Tennis at the 2012 Summer Olympics, etc., I am proposing that the following changes be made. The parameters at the top of the section should read "Tennis at the {{{1}}} {{{2}}}", where {{{1}}} is the year, and {{{2}}} would be the name of the event (e.g. Commonwealth Games, Summer Olympics, Pan American Games). The template also includes a lot of ifeq parser equations (which are in the top of the infobox) dealing with ATP events and other events that are not multi-sports events, so I propose that they be removed. I'll proceed to make the edits unless there is disagreement.

I'm also looking for a template similar to Template:Tennis events that includes a mixed event, for use in the 2011 PanAm Games and the 2012 OGs. Would that be a separate template, or an if parser equation add-on to the Template:Tennis events? Prayerfortheworld (talk) 17:49, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Template:Performance timeline legend

edit

Should not the the last two items on the Template:Performance timeline legend be modified to include Fed Cup results? I do not think that any female player will play in the Davis Cup: {{Performance timeline legend}} Raul17 (talk) 18:17, 28 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Template: Infobox Tennis Grand Slam events

edit

I've been trying to update and enhance the wheelchair tennis sections of the grand slam events. I noticed that, for Wimbledon, there are missing links in the lower part of the infobox. For example, if you go here you will see only links for WC doubles men and women. But for the Australian Open here there are links for WC doubles men, women, quad, as well as singles men, women and quad. Wimbledon has WC singles men and women as of 2016, so the categories should now be added. Quad doubles started as of 2018. (No quad singles yet.). Any idea how to add these links?Annafromathens (talk) 12:39, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Annafromathens: I maybe 3 years late to this question, but I will answer it, nonetheless. Refer to this for future reference. Qwerty284651 (talk) 12:21, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

I was going through the draws listed in the 2021 French Open Events section and Infobox and noticed, that the Wheelchair (WC) Quad Doubles draw was listed as the last Wheelchair draw in the end, yet the order the WC draws subsections follows is:
1. WC Men's Singles
2. WC Women's Singles
3. WC Quad Singles
4. WC Men's Doubles
5. WC Women's Doubles
6. WC Quad Doubles
It makes more sense to have the WC QD draw be listed after the quad singles so, it goes:
1. WC Men's Singles
2. WC Women's Singles
3. WC Men's Doubles
4. WC Women's Doubles
5. WC Quad Singles
6. WC Quad Doubles
which would follow the order of men's and women's singles, whose spot remains unchanged, followed by the men's and women's doubles, and then the quad singles and doubles, making the logical order: singles, doubles and quads. P.S. Also, for some reason I tried changing the aforementioned order in the infobox in source and the change, for some reason, would not show up after publishing. I open the source again and the new edit is there, but it did not register it in read view. How can I make this work properly? Perhaps change the Infobox for tennis events template through transclusion or substitution, so, it complies with the proposed change? Qwerty284651 (talk) 11:55, 2 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please keep the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Infoboxes. Starting the same discussion in 5 different places minimises the chances of any consensus being formed, as editors won't see each other's comments and it just generally confuses the process. In future, just direct people to the talk page where you start the discussion if you want more input, as I've done here. --Somnifuguist (talk) 23:29, 3 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
