Julie, originating in Orange County, California[1] formed sometime in 2019, and subsequently self-released singles that created early support for the band, including "flutter".[2] In 2021, the group released their first EP titled “pushing daisies”.[1] In 2022, Julie released two new songs titled "pg.4 a picture of three hedges" and "through your window".[3] In 2024, the group announced their debut full-length album, My Anti-Aircraft Friend, which was released on September 13 via Atlantic Records.[4][5][6] Ahead of the album's release, singles "catalogue," "clairbourne practice," and "very little effort" were released.[7][8][9] The group was named "One to Watch" by The Guardian.[10]
