promotion?

[edit]

A lot of this page looks like it is promotional in nature, especially with the inclusion of inline links. Someone needs to take a good look at it!

Like this, for instance:

"...Walczyk has been vigilant on rising water levels along the St. Lawrence River and Lake Ontario. Walczyk organized a meeting with local officials, the International Joint Commission (IJC) and elected leader from Canada to discuss the way water levels are currently regulated and the impact it has on homeowners and business owners along regional waterways.

Walczyk was able to establish himself as a fighter for common sense. He was able to work across the aisle in Albany and receive unanimous support for legislation he sponsored that erased an unfunded state mandate..."

  • Agreed, the page is definitely written in a promotional manner and sorely needs more sources. I don't want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I have some concerns after reading the page and reviewing edit history.
  1. 1: User Mschenck46 wrote a large chunk of this page and has only made contributions to this page. A quick google search shows multiple Linkedin posts by Walczyk directing campaign questions to a "mschenk@mark4senate.com" mschenk@mark4senate.com" leading me to believe this is someone on Walczyk campaign staff.
  2. 2: User Newzjunky1234 is pretty obviously promoting the website NewzJunky, which is the second source you bring up for promotional language.

I might put a Advert/Promotion template on the page. Stanloona2020 | Talk 11:30, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
