Mexico Beach

The Emerald Coast, also called the Miracle Strip, is in the Florida Panhandle and consists of the coastal regions of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, and Bay counties. The region is informally known as the "Redneck Riviera". South Walton Beach 30A, a 15-mile beach road between Panama City Beach and Sandestin, is a relatively unknown jewel consisting of first-class development, totally rewriting the idea of "Redneck Riviera".

Cities

[edit]

See the West Florida page for information on Pensacola, Navarre, and Milton, cities also within the Emerald Coast region.

Other destinations

[edit]
  • 1 Choctawhatchee National Forest
  • 2 Gulf Islands National Seashore
  • 3 Britton Hill Britton Hill on Wikipedia is the highest natural point in Florida. It is in the northern part of the county, about half a mile from the Alabama border. Lakewood Park was built on the spot on the west side of CR 285. It contains a stone monument marking the spot. Oddly, there is not much signage on the roads to help find Britton Hill.

Understand

[edit]

This region travel guide to Emerald Coast is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here.
