English: Gaotou Township, Yongding County, Fujian Province, China. The township's center - several adjacent villages called Goabei, Gaonan, Gaodong, etc - is a mix of traditional tulou buildings and nondescript modern architecture of small-town China. Some of the most famous tulou buildings are located on the west side of the township; however, smaller traditional rural buildings of the area are interesting as well, displaying the use of the same material (clay and timber) and techniques that are seen in the larger tulou.
