High number of blurry portrait photos w/o exif data taken in different surroundings are suspect. Uploader claims "Senate judiciary comittee" as source and unknown author. Unlikely that the images are compatibly licensed and that the creators have granted permissions.

Some of the images can be found elsewhere online in higher quality, e.g.

Source "Senate JudiciaryCommittee" and author "Unknown author" with incorrect dates (e.g. File:Arianna Freeman.jpg says 7 July 2022, however hearing took place in March 2022: https://www.courthousenews.com/surge-of-public-defenders-heading-to-federal-bench-drives-wedge-at-senate/) are not enough to identify whether these images are compatibly licensed. Some images bear watermarks (e.g. File:Todd Michael Hughes.jpg) suggesting these images/screenshots of videos have been made by a US government entity, which would mean they are in public domain. Much better source information is needed to corroborate that and rule out that these images have been created by a private entity.

Hello,
I updated the correct senate judiciary committee hearing dates for all of the names you listed above from Todd Michael Hughes to Margaret Strickland. If there is anything else you need me to update please let me k ow. If not, feel free to withdraw your delete request.
Thank you

Hello,

I will be happy to go into each picture I uploaded & put the day of their senate judiciary hearing. I was putting the date I uploaded each picture on the picture but I will be happy to go in & change each one. MIAJudges (talk) 18:21, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If these are screenshots from C-SPAN coverage of hearings, then they're not copyright-compliant for Wikipedia purposes, per the policy here. Per C-SPAN's site, only coverage from the House or Senate floor (not committees) is in the public domain. BubbaJoe123456 (talk) 20:51, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MIAJudges: Today you uploaded another file with questionable source information: File:Robert Wilkins 1.jpg.
Where do you obtain these screenshots from ? I've been doing some research and it appears that specific hearing did not take place on 31 October 2013 as claimed in the file summary. Unless the same people in same clothes gathered twice, it must've taken place on 11 September 2013 (see video at https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/meetings/judicial-nominations-2013-09-11, Robert Wilkins' hearing begins at roughly 0:50h). Njd-de (talk) 21:22, 12 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, No these screenshots are not from C-Span. They are from the senate, none are from C-Span as I know that would violate copyright rules. As for the date for Robert Wilkins, if I put October 2013 then that was just an error. It was taken from September 2013. If there are any errors for any of the above pics that I need to fix please let me know. I’ll be honest, I’m mot a Wikipedia expert so errors are possible but I am more then happy to fix them. I know many people are happy with the pictures on the articles for the federal judges so I can fix whatever is needed so we can keep the pictures up within guidelines.  Delete all; I feel like most of them are copyvios taken from other websites and don't belong here, and the images that could possibly be from Senate hearings are low quality and can be replaced with better pictures or official portraits. Plus it doesn't help that there's no source except "Senate judiciary committee" and that even after searching I couldn't find them online anywhere, and it can constitute as lacking important information to determine if its genuine. reppoptalk 05:38, 13 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The pictures taken with the nominees sitting at their Senate judiciary committee hearing are not copyvios taken from other websites.

Similar to recent nomination for deletion of files uploaded by this user, the images are lacking information to determine copyright status. Images are extremely unlikely to be CC-BY-SA licensed, and the question is whether they are in public domain. However, no author and source given as "Senate judiciary comittee" is not helpful. Some images have been uploaded with incorrect dates, e.g. File:Robert Wilkins 1.jpg (hearing took place 11 September 2013, not 31 October 2013) or File:Matthew Leitman.jpg (hearing took place 30 October 2013, not 16 January 2014). For some of the screenshots the source is undeniably C-SPAN, e.g. File:Kimberly Mueller.jpg seems to have been taken from https://www.c-span.org/video/?293041-104/us-district-court-nominations (at approx. 4:30 min) or File:Catherine Eagles.jpg from https://www.c-span.org/video/?293041-104/us-district-court-nominations (scene at approx. 14:50 min).

Hello all,

The File:Kimberly Mueller.jpg picture can be deleted. All other pictures listed here has been updated with the correct licesne info per the advise I was given by admins. We used the File:Arianna Freeman.jpg as a template & I updated all of thee pics using that. If these are good, later this week I will go ahead & re-do the pictures that were deleted already with the correct info from the template mentioned above. Some of them I did not get from the SJC hearing so I will leave those out.

Hello,

I put licensing Template in the licensing section. Could you give me some advice as to how to obtain what you’re asking for?
