Rhea Chakraborty appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for a second round of questioning on Monday in connection to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Along with the model-turned-actress, her father, Indrajit Chakraborty, also appeared for another round of interrogation.

The ED's line of questioning, officials said, is revolving around Rhea's income, investments, business and professional deals, and links.

Also under the ED's scanner is a property located in the city's Khar area and another in Navi Mumbai, both linked to Rhea, for the source of purchase and ownership.

Agency sources have said they "want more answers" from Rhea over the alleged mismatch between her income, expenditure and investments.

They said while Rhea has filed Income Tax Returns stating an income of about Rs 14-18 lakh, the value of her investments is reportedly higher.

Her father, they said, is a retired defence personnel who gets a pension of about Rs 1 lakh per month.

The sources said Rhea told the agency that she had made the property investments from her income, savings and has taken bank loans.

According to a report in the Times of India, Rhea’s brother, Showik Chakraborty, was grilled by the ED for 18 hours on Saturday, and was spotted leaving the agency’s Mumbai office at 6:30 am on Sunday morning. ED sources said that Showik was evasive during the questioning.

On July 31, the ED lodged a case under the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act (PMLA) for what it termed “suspicious transactions” referring to the financial transactions conducted by Rhea who was in a relationship with Rajput at the time of his death. The central intelligence agency sprung into action after Rajput’s father, KK Singh, filed an FIR in Patna, pointing to financial irregularities and alleging fraud against Rhea.

On Saturday, her lawyer had shared a photograph of ‘note of gratitude’ written by Rajput and a sipper, which, she claimed is the ‘only property of Sushant’ that she possesses.

"This is his handwriting, Lillu is Showik, Bebu is me, Sir is my dad, Ma'am is my mom, Fudge is his dog," Chakraborty said about the names mentioned in the list. She also shared a picture of a sipper with Rajput's film 'Chhichhore' stamped on it.

On Friday, clad in a blue salwar-kameez, Rhea had appeared at the ED office. Times Now quoted her lawyer Satish Maneshinde as saying that "Rhea Chakraborty is a law-abiding citizen and will cooperate with the agency as requested."

Known for films like "MS Dhoni: The Untold Story" and "Kedarnath", Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra home on June 14. Initial reports suggested that the actor had allegedly died of suicide. No suicide note was found in Rajput’s apartment. His post-mortem report said that he had died of asphyxiation.
