    Delhi-NCR, On Friday, experienced heavy rainfall, accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms, offering relief from the scorching heat but causing significant disruptions. The downpour led to waterlogging across the city, flight cancellations, and even a roof collapse at Delhi Airport's Terminal 1.

    Radhika Gupta, CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund, shared her experience of navigating through the flooded city on social media platform X. She recounted how she abandoned her car, submerged in a waterlogged road, in favor of using the Delhi Metro.

    "What do you do when Delhi is flooded on the day you're supposed to have a roadshow? Ditch the car for the fabulous metro, enjoy Chole Bhatura and Rajma Chawal like a Delhi kid, and keep working... and as luck would have it, have a record roadshow turnout! The spirit of Mumbai meets the rain of Delhi!," Gupta wrote in her post, which also included four images documenting her journey.

    Her post received over 27,000 views and numerous reactions from X users, praising her positive outlook amidst the adversity. One user commented, "That's the right spirit to take this catastrophe in. While people are whining about it, Ma'am, you took it with a really positive outlook. Commendable!!" Others echoed similar sentiments, celebrating her resilience and positivity in handling the situation.


    Impact of Heavy Rain

    The heavy rainfall paralyzed Delhi's traffic, leaving many commuters stranded on waterlogged roads and highways. Social media was flooded with visuals of submerged streets and stranded vehicles, illustrating the severity of the situation. The collapse at Delhi Airport added to the chaos, affecting flight schedules and frustrating passengers.

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued warnings prior to the downpour, urging residents to take precautions against thunderstorms and heavy rain. Despite these alerts, the intensity of the weather caught many off guard, exacerbating the inconvenience caused across the region.
