- John Martin is a singer and songwriter from Sweden
- At the age of 13, Martin formed a band with some friends to play Nirvana songs
- Within a couple of years, the band had started performing their own songs and the 15-year old Martin was its frontrunner
- But the band soon fell apart and Martin lost interest in rock music
- Music had always been a significant part of Martin’s life and for a long time he, along with a band, played in bars in Stockholm
- Things started to change in 2010 when he met the songwriter Michel Zitron and they decided to collaborate. This collaboration also sparked Martin’s interest in electronic music
- Later, he met Sebastian Ingrosso — who is part of the DJ collective Swedish House Mafia — in Cosmos Studios. Impressed by his talent, Ingrosso asked him and Zitron to collaborate on a song
- He got some major recognition after he lent his voice to the Swedish House Mafia’s hit number ‘Save the World’ and the late Swedish DJ Avicii’s chartbuster ‘Fade Into Darkness’ in 2011
- Marking another big moment in his career, he performed at the Madison Square Gardens with Swedish House Mafia in December that year
- His success grew as his next collaboration with Swedish House Mafia ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ topped the charts in several countries in 2012
- He also worked with Ingrosso and Tommy Trash to create the chart-topping song ‘Reload’ in 2012
- In 2013, he collaborated with the British rapper Tinie Tempah to create the megahit ‘Children of the Sun’
- His first single ‘Anywhere For You’ was released in 2014
- Today, Martin is an internationally recognised singer-songwriter who performs all around the world
