    As many as 17,625 posts are vacant under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. There was no re-employment of retired personnel in the last five years, according to Minister of State Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya. In 2014, there were 45,915 permanent and 19 temporary posts, which increased to 48,555 permanent and 8 temporary posts in 2024 across various institutions, agencies, and autonomous bodies.
