    The Congress government in Karnataka has appointed 24 ministers, including sons of two former chief ministers, in its cabinet. Veteran Congress leaders and former ministers were given positions in the second list. Seven of the newly appointed ministers have already served as cabinet ministers in the past. H K Patil, Krishna Byre Gowda, N Cheluvarayaswamy, K Venkatesh, Dr H C Mahadevappa, Eshwar Khandre, and former state Congress president Dinesh Gundu Rao are some of the names on the list.

    The cabinet in Karnataka, headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has been expanded with the swearing in of new ministers. Among them are N. Rajanna, Shivanand Patil, HK Patil, Krishna Byregowda and Dinesh Gundu Rao. Earlier it was announced that 24 Congress legislators would be made ministers, and with this expansion the cabinet's full strength will be 34.

    "Congress president has approved the proposal for including additional names in the Pradesh Election Committee for ensuing assembly elections in Karnataka-2023, with an immediate effect," said an official communication from the party.
