An unproductive battleground

edit

Hello Michalis1994,

I have removed some messages from the RfC at Talk:Evangelos Marinakis ([1] [2]) because they focused on user conduct rather than content. Please focus on content instead. Looking [3], [4] and [5], the situation has become an unproductive battleground and the persistent attempts to silence the other side of the conflict by getting them blocked needs to stop. If the persistent bickering discourages uninvolved others from finding a consensus, it may become necessary to place long-duration blocks to prevent your private conflict from influencing Wikipedia's processes too much. There are 6,862,502 articles in this encyclopedia and there is no need to get so intensely involved in a small subset of them. The Task Center is full of productive ideas; please consider disengaging from the conflict voluntarily.

Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:14, 4 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the message and I will fully follow your advice. Again, apologies for the mess. Michalis1994 (talk) 20:02, 4 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hey @ToBeFree, another personal attack despite your pleas. Michalis1994 (talk) 09:04, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the notification. Goodness. I pray you're not a sockpuppet due to the amount of times I've asked people to stop accusing you of this without evidence. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 09:30, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I want to clarify that I am not a sockpuppet. My aim is to improve the encyclopedia by addressing the unfounded arguments of some users who seem more interested in blocking others than in contributing constructively. I appreciate your support; it's been helpful to find common ground with you and a few others.

By the way, is this a threat (come back 'angrier')? It seems this user might be the same sockpuppet from the Greek Wikipedia known as Vrahomarinaner. Michalis1994 (talk) 11:50, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
"from the Greek Wikipedia known as User:Vrahomarinaner" Wow, for a new user knows too much!! D.S. Lioness (talk) 17:30, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

What the hell?! Why did I get blocked? Michalis1994 (talk) 17:50, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Regarding Special:Diff/1238788500: My thoughts exactly. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 17:50, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Can you elaborate why I got blocked? They declined to run a Checkuser a while ago, but I am more than happy to request one so we can take it from there? This is really scary and sad. Not sure what has happened here, but care to explain? Michalis1994 (talk) 17:54, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
You have been blocked because you seem to have evaded a block of the account NikolaosFanaris. I'd like to avoid going into details publicly or towards you or any non-checkuser, however. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 18:04, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
