Aman Sehrawat (born 16 July 2003) is an Indian freestyle wrestler from Haryana. He won the bronze medal in the 57 kg category at the 2022 Asian Games.[1][2][3][4][5] Earlier in April 2023, he won a gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Early life
[edit]Aman Sehrawat hails from a Jat family of Sehrawat gotra from Birohar, Jhajjar district, Haryana.[6] He lost both his parents when he was 11 years old.
Career
[edit]Sehrawat won his first National Championship title in 2021. He used to train under coach Lalit Kumar.[6]
In January 2024, he won the gold medal in the men’s 57kg event at the Zagreb Open wrestling tournament beating China’s Zou Wanhao in the final with a perfect score of 10-0.[7]
He competed at the 2024 Asian Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan hoping to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.[8] He is the lone male wrestler qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics from India.[8]
