From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Glockner Group is a sub-group of the Central Alps in the Eastern Alps. It lies in Austria in the states of Salzburg, Tyrol and Carinthia. Together with the Ankogel Group, the Goldberg Group, the Schober Group, the Kreuzeck Group, the Granatspitz Group, the Venediger Group, the Villgraten Mountains and the Rieserferner Group the Glockner Group forms the main range known as the High Tauern.

The boundary for the region is taken from the definition of the Central Alps and its subdivisions into individual mountain groups by the Alpine Club division of the Eastern Alps (AVE).
